Man I feel for these kids.

 

Three games in and Booth and staff seem to have lost this team.

 

Not good for the future of Hurricane football unless some changes are made.

 

Def Cord needs to be "let go" to put it nicely.

 

Booth needs to figure out some type of offensive scheme that "works" and these kids can run.

 

Seem to me like he's attempting to get away from that Manatee football spread/option offense that the kids grew up running all the way back to when many of them were freshman.

 

As those athletes coached by Kinnan and crew graduate, I think we will see the lack of ability by this staff.

 

No reason to only score 14 points in two games with all that talent on the field.

 

I won't even mention the points against, smh.

I am not sure what the game plan was vs Venice but they need to establish the run with the RB. The QB had more rush attempts than any RB in the Venice game.

On another note the defense has the players but seemed to lack that normal Manatee attitude. I'm not sure coaching can help that but they did not take the field like any of the past Manatee teams I have watched.

It was very odd to watch that game and the way it unfolded.

#1 St Thomas

 

Everyone else that will change week to week.

Rankings are tough as these are high school kids. Any of the teams you place in the top 10 probably deserve to be there. No one in 7a wants to see St Thomas on their schedule until the State Finals.

On 3 days rest with quick turn around it looked like the Manatee coaches did not have the right setup. If they ran the ball with the RB 3 times I would be surprised.

I know this was a relief to some of the Camden County guys as this weather has given them some time off. Im sure they did not want to play this one after the last 2 weeks in Florida has been weather delayed. Plus Im sure the score would not have been easy to handle again.

If they 90% run then im not worried at all, we were able to contain Apopka single wing and forced Gainesville to -22 rushing yards so we will be able to handle run, but that secondary has got to improve if we want to make a deep run in playoffs

 

After watching them and talking to a parent while we waited for the weather delay, something has to change. According to that parent (who only has a cheerleader) that team is on a downslide. He said the coach is in I think his 2nd year and still in a feeling out process. Said they lost some kids to transfer. If I were them I would pass more or get into more 75-25 run-pass. Scouting reports show who they will pass to and did not deviate from that at all. Stop the fullback dive and they are in trouble.

 

With that being said they are not a as bad as the last few weeks have shown on the scoreboard. They make mistakes at very critical times that kill them. The offense is not typical so I thought our defense may have had an issue. They have talent and toughness they are just missing some key ingredients. They looked very young as well. The long drive did not help.

Could be more.  There RB has some size and runs hard. The mis direction can cause confusion and that is there only hope. They run the ball 90% and try to surprise you with a pass. Play assignment football and it will be another loss to a FL team.

Too many penalties to be competitive.

They dressed 120 kids and I'm betting only 20+ played in the game.

The ride home last night was approx 7 hours, my guess is they arrived home around 7-8am this morning. I cant imagine them next week after all of the travel playing well enough to make it competitive.

Camden is a young team. They are not what you are used to hearing about. They will play to the final whistle the entire game so no giving up in these boys. Columbia with the win.
