Welcome to our in depth coverage of the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game. We will presenting previews of all the positions through out the week. This eight preview will look in depth of all the inside linebackers in this year’s game.
#4 Ben Boulware | T.L. Hanna HS | Anderson, SC | 6’1, 225 | Clemson
Committed to Clemson in March 2012, Boulware will bring great run stopping ability to the Tigers defense. Boulware comes into the Under Armour game rated as the 136th recruit on the ESPN 150. 16 schools all across the country offered scholarships to the number two ranked ILB out of South Carolina. Boulware chose Clemson over notable schools like Georgia, Stanford, Texas A&M and UCLA.
#45 Isaac Savaiinaea | Punahou School | Honolulu, HI | 6’3, 231 | Undeclared
Savaiinaea comes into the Under Armour game undeclared on his college decision. However, Savaiinaea has offers from 11 different FBS schools, with Notre Dame and Texas A&M leading the way for the top ILB out of Hawaii. Savaiinaea, the 140th ranked recruit on the ESPN 150, is not the only notable LB out of Punahou School. 2012 Heisman runner-up Manti Te’o graduated from Punahou in 2008. President Barack Obama also graduated from Punahou School in 1979.
#2 Reuben Foster | Auburn HS | Auburn, AL | 6’2, 242 | Undeclared
Foster is an undeclared athlete is rated best overall inside linebacker in the nation according to ESPN. He currently holds offers from multiple schools including major powerhouse SEC programs Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and hometown Auburn. What makes Foster a really great player is his abilities to provide both inside and outside support while using his diagnosing skills that allows him to make tackles that are needed in any game situation. Foster has participated in The Opening and is ranked #24 in the ESPN 150 player rankings.
# 32 Trey Johnson | Central Gwinnett HS | Lawrenceville, GA | 6’1, 215 | Undeclared
A player who has impressive tackling skills while diagnosing different situations in the game, Johnson is one player to keep an eye on during the game. Rated the 2nd best overall inside linebacker in the nation according to ESPN, you will also find his inside run support skills to be a boost as well. Johnson is undecided where he will be headed, but schools like Florida, Ohio State and Alabama are just among some in the mix trying to acquire his services. Johnson is ranked the 96th best player overall on the ESPN 150 player rankings and has participated in the The Opening.
#37 Yannick Ngakoue | Friendship Collegiate Academy | Washington, D.C. | 6’2, 230 | Undeclared
Considered the 30th best overall inside linebacker in the nation, according to ESPN, Ngakoue has been attracting decent offers that could take him away from the Washington D.C. area. Schools that are in the mix include Maryland, Florida State, Miami (FL) and South Carolina. Nagkoue has been a Maryland commit for a short while in 2012, but reopened up his recruiting to see what other options were available out there.
