Welcome to our in depth coverage of the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game. We will presenting previews of all the positions through out the week. This twelfth preview will look in depth of all the tight ends in this year’s game.
#5 O.J. Howard | Autauga Academy | Prattville, AL | 6’6, 225 | Alabama
One of the early commits of the 2013 class, O.J. Howard, committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide on August 18, 2011. The six foot-six inch tight end, is the second highest rated tight end prospect according to the ESPN 150 rankings and 42nd overall. Howard, considered as one of the top catching tight ends in the 2013 recruiting class, was also a participant in the Gridiron Kings event and The Opening.
#12 Josh McNeil | Milford Academy | Durham, NC | 6’5, 226 | Undeclared
Josh McNeil was committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide as late as December 20 before issues arose from academic issues in his freshman year of high school. McNeil is looking also looking at LSU as a possible landing spot. Regarded as an elite receiving tight end, McNeil is rated as the country’s 131st best player on the ESPN 150 rankings. McNeil had also participated in the Opening prior to the 2012 season.
#8 Marcus Baugh | John W. North HS | Riverside, CA | 6’4, 229 | Ohio State
Marcus Baugh was recruited by nearly every Pac-12 team, but instead chose to commit to Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes back in April 2012. The 6’4 tight end is ranked as the number three TE and 129th recruit overall on the ESPN 150, providing Team Nitro with plenty of speed for a player his size. Baugh most recently won the OL/DL Skills Challenge, beating one of the nations best DL, Chris Jones (Auburn).
#82 Hunter Henry| Pulaski Academy | Little Rock, AR | 6’5, 240 | Arkansas
It was no surprise when Hunter Henry committed to Arkansa back in July 2012. Henry will follow the footsteps of his father, Mark, who was an offensive lineman for Arkansas back in the 1980’s. His grandfather, Skip Coffman, also played basketball for the Razorbacks in the early 1960’s. As a senior, the 106th ranked recruit on the ESPN 150 had an astonishing 107 catches for 1,449 yards and 15 touchdowns. Those numbers topped his junior season, where he had over 1,000 yards receiving, leading the 2011 Pulaski Bruins to an undefeated Arkansas 4A state championship.
