We are counting down the top 150 players in the state as researched, analyzed and complied by FloridaHSFootball.com staff members. While rankings are always subjective and players move up and down the charts, this list is meant to show you the fans who are some of the best players are in the state to keep a solid eye on this season and to see where they might head for their college career. Expect this list to change one more time right before National Signing Day, which will include information from the 2013 season.
Here are players 11-20 on the Florida HS Football Top 150.
11. Artavis Scott | 5’11 | 175 | East Lake |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Clemson |
Scott is explosive every time the ball comes his way. Although he will have a new quarterback throwing to him this season, don’t expect anything to drop off this season. |
12. OG Isaiah Wynn | 6’3 | 260 | Lakewood |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Georgia |
Wynn is going to be the anchor for the offensive line and help keep opposing defenders from getting to the quarterback. Wynn’s size, strength and abilities to play at the position have put him very high as a Division I prospect |
13. S Trey Marshall | 5’11 | 196 | Columbia |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida State |
Opposing offenses couldn’t keep up with Marshall last season, especially when he would intercept passes when the quarterback least expect it. Overall, Marshall is quick and elusive and keep teams wondering where he might just show up at in the defensive formation. |
14. OT Mason Cole | 6’5 | 265 | East Lake |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Michigan |
Cole has proven with size and strength that he can play at the next level, especially after helping keep the now-graduated Pete DiNovo blocked enroute to over 2,000 yards passing. And on another note, Cole is already helped recruit teammate George Campbell to become a Michigan commit in the 2015 class. |
15. DE Denzel Ware | 6’3 | 220 | Crestview |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Kentucky |
Ware transferred during the offseason to Opp, Alabama only to return a few months later and reenroll at Crestview. With Ware being back, it give the Bulldogs some size and strength on the defensive line as the team transitions with a new head coach and a new district, where every game matters this season. |
16. WR Johnnie Dixon | 5’11 | 193 | Dwyer |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Dixon has over 1,000 yards receiving in the last two seasons with Dwyer and his abilities to catch the ball no matter how it has done has been catching the attention of college coaches all over the country. Dixon this year will be helping his team reclaim a district championship and possibly try to make a run for the Class 7A state title in a very tough South Florida region. |
17. OLB Jacob Pugh | 6’3 | 205 | Godby |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida State |
Having long arms is a big plus to being a linebacker and that is what Jacob Pugh has. With his abilities to keep opposing teams at bay, it is no wonder why Florida State won the recruiting war to get Pugh’s services starting in 2014 and stay very close to home. |
18. ATH J.C. Jackson | 6’0 | 185 | Immokalee |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida |
Jackson literally exploded last season for Immokalee that helped get to the state championship game for the first time since 2004. While he might not have Tshumbi Johnson anymore throwing to him, we should not see a stop off his talents this season. |
19. OG Corey Martinez | 6’4 | 297 | Tampa Catholic |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Florida State |
Martinez provded to be an excellent blocker last season and helping Tampa Catholic get to the Regional Finals of the playoffs last season. Look for him to do much of the same again this season as Tampa Catholic is high on the list of possibly making a state title run. |
20. DT Anthony Moten | 6’4 | 279 | St. Thomas Aquinas |
COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Undecided |
Moten has been rising up the recruiting charts every season he has played and he has tremendous speed, size and athletic ability that helped St. Thomas Aquinas last season, especially over-then nationally ranked #1 Manatee. |
