PLANTATION – On a rather cool evening in south Florida, after a 7-hour bus ride from Jacksonville, Bolles was looking to making it two years in a row against American Heritage-Plantation.
In what was a highly anticipated game between two teams on opposite sides of the state, American Heritage-Plantation didn’t waste anytime getting the jump on Jacksonville Bolles. On the first play from scrimmage the “human highlight-reel,” Isaiah McKenzie, took a reception 80-yards to the endzone. Although that was really the only excitement we saw from McKenzie all night as Sony Michel took over.
At his senior homecoming, Sony Michel did not disappoint. Michel took over the game as he ran all over the Bolles defense. Sony finished the nights with touchdown runs of 41-yards and 54-yards and a 51-yard touchdown reception.
Bolles started out slow as they were down at the end of the first quarter 35-7.
Corky Rogers’ team just never really found their identity and their quarterback, Joe Edde never settled in to the pocket.
The Patriots defense kept the Bulldogs offense in check and finished the game with a final score of 60-21.
