Here are FloridaHSFootball.com’s Class 4A Rankings after Week 2. Ranking, team name, record and previous rank included for each team.
Below the Top 5 are the regional rankings for Class 4A, showing you how teams are ranked in each of the four designated FHSAA regions.
Class 4A Top 5
1. Cocoa, 2-0, 1
Week 2: Defeated Western Branch, Va., 35-0
This Week: at IMG Academy
Comment: Cocoa has only given up 7 points in their first two games, but they face a tall task by traveling over to the left coast to take on the All-Star IMG Academy program that has already ran over Miramar and DeSoto, Tx., to open the season.
2. Bolles, 2-0, 2
Week 2: Defeated Palm Bay Heritage, 28-21
This Week: vs. Lakewood
Comment: Bolles is off to a hot start already knocking off Class 8A Lake Mary and Class 6A Palm Bay Heritage. This week it will get the chance to take out another higher class team in Class 5A Lakewood before opening district play next week.
3. Booker T. Washington, 1-1, 3
Week 2: Defeated Monsignor Pace, 41-0
This Week: vs. Miami Jackson at Traz Powell
Comment: Booker T. Washington help stopped the bleeding that started last week in South Florida by shutting out Monsignor Pace. However, this does not say much about the Tornadoes considering Monsignor Pace is in a rebuilding mode, but this week’s game should tell us more about the Tornadoes.
4. Clewiston, 2-0, 4
Week 2: Defeated Immokalee, 49-10
This Week: vs. Fort Pierce Central
Comment: Clewiston has already steam rolled two opponents by a combined score of 95-16 to start the season. However, the challenges are starting to build with Class 8A Fort Pierce Central coming to town. Fort Pierce Central has not given up a single point in their first two games, so it should be interesting to see how the Tigers fair in this one.
5. Raines, 2-0, NR
Week 2: Defeated North Miami Beach, 61-0
This Week: vs. Ed White
Comment: One of only a handful teams to have scored at least 100 points within the first two weeks of the season, the Vikings will be looking to add more points to an already explosive start to the 2015 season. Oh should we say the defense has not given up a single point yet this season? Ed White might not be as a much of challenge and the defense could continue its shutout streak heading into Week 4 the way things look on paper.
Dropped out: No. 5 Walton
