Vote for the statewide Player & Coach of the Week for Week 2. Winners from each region will placed into the statewide vote each week to where you can decide who will be the Statewide Player & Coach of the Week.

Voting last until tomorrow (Friday) morning at 11:30 a.m ET/10:30 a.m. CT. with the winner announced at Noon ET/11:00 a.m. CT

STATEWIDE PLAYER OF THE WEEK CANDIDATES

PANHANDLE: QB Cody Saunders, Arnold – Saunders scorched Fort Walton Beach for 480 total yards (19 of 25 for 315 yards, 165 rushing, 5 TDs) in 40-21 win.

BIG BEND: QB Darius Bradwell, Godby – Bradwell rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns along with 89 yards passing in a 41-31 come from behind win over Chiles.

NORTH CENTRAL: QB Caelan Christian, Gainesville – 183 yards passing and two touchdowns in Gainesville’s 31-26 upset of First Coast.

FIRST COAST: QB Jordan Johnson, Oakleaf – 10 of 15 for 274 yards passing and 5 touchdowns in a 44-7 win over Orange Park

EAST CENTRAL: QB Josh Spencer, Father Lopez – 23 of 27 passing for 389 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-21 rout of Warner Christian.

WEST CENTRAL: RB Bryan Johnson, St. Cloud – 12 carries for 240 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns in a 45-24 win over East Ridge.

HEARTLAND:  QB William Tate, Winter Haven – 16 of 23 passing for 178 yards for four touchdowns and just one interception in 41-13 rout of Lake Gibson.

NORTH SUNCOAST: RB DeShawn Smith, Nature Coast – Had 14 carries for 210 yards rushing and four touchdowns in a 46-21 win over Hudson.

TAMPA BAY: QB Andrew Schaedler, Palm Harbor University – 20 of 37 passing for 288 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-22 win over Seminole.

SOUTHWEST: RB Josh Booker, Sarasota – Rushed for 268 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-6 win over rival Booker.

EAST COAST: QB Carson Proctor, Vero Beach – Completed 18 of 20 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-6 rout of Palm Beach Central.

PALM BEACHES: QB Chris Mauck, Berean Christian – Threw for 422 yards and 3 touchdowns in Berean Christian’s 22-0 shut out of Coral Glades.

BROWARD: Flanagan Defense – Was in the Coconut Creek backfield all night in 21-14 win. Recorded nine sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery.

MIAMI-DADE & KEYS: RB Mekhi Sargent, Key West – Had 31 carries for 246 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns in a 41-40 barn burner loss to University School. Sargent broke the all-time school rushing record previously held by Speedy Neal and Ran Carthon.

STATEWIDE COACH OF THE WEEK CANDIDATES

PANHANDLE: Mike Davis, Escambia – Has Escambia off to a hot 2-0 start and guided the Gators to their first win over Niceville since 1995 last week.

BIG BEND: Aaron Sheppard, Jefferson County – Has Jefferson County off to a 2-0 start, their first 2-0 start in a very long time.

NORTH CENTRAL: Mark Latsko, Gainesville – Led his team to a fantastic 31-26 win over a previously ranked First Coast team after suffering a big defeat at rival Columbia the week before.

FIRST COAST: Marcus Miller, Englewood – Has Englewood off to their first 2-0 start in many years and the momentum is building for the Ram, a team that has seen some turbulent years behind them.

EAST CENTRAL: Scott Wilson, Mainland – We might be speaking what most already know, but Wilson has Mainland already off to a hot 2-0 start on the season and appears to have a team could be unstoppable.

WEST CENTRAL: Jim Pusateri, Orlando University – The first-year University head coach has helped keep the pace for the Cougars as they are off to a 2-0 start on the season.

HEARTLAND: Wade Jackson, Avon Park – Has Avon Park off to its first 2-0 start since 2006 and has already matched last year’s win total in the first two weeks.

NORTH SUNCOAST: Jay Fulmer, Ridgewood – Has Ridgewood off to its first 2-0 start since 2008 and has the Rams being a potential district darkhorse when they start district play in Week 4.

TAMPA BAY: Reggie Crume, Palm Harbor University – Has quickly led Palm Harbor to a surprising 2-0 start when most thought the team would not achieve much this year.

SOUTHWEST: Binky Waldrop, Charlotte – Has led the Tarpons off to another great start at 2-0 and they are currently ranked No. 2 in Region III of Class 6A, just outside the Top 10.

EAST COAST: Chris Branham, Okeechobee – Has Okeechobee off to its first 2-0 start in over a decade heading into a big rivalry game against undefeated Martin County this week.

PALM BEACHES: T.J. Jackson, Delray Beach Atlantic – Has the Eagles already off to a quick 2-0 start and Atlantic is currently ranked in the Top 10 in our Class 8A rankings.

BROWARD: Eddie “Rabbit” Brown, Boyd Anderson – Has doubled the team’s win total from last year and has the team already off to a hot 2-0 start.

MIAMI-DADE & KEYS: Mike Manasco, Miami Palmetto – Has gotten his team off to a surprising hot 2-0 start and has shown they can be competitive so far though two games.
