Here are FloridaHSFootball.com’s Class 5A Rankings after Week 4. Ranking, team name, record and previous rank included for each team.

Below the Top 10 are the regional rankings for Class 5A, showing you how teams are ranked in each of the four designated FHSAA regions.

Class 5A Top 10

1. American Heritage (Plantation), 3-1, 1
Week
4: Defeated Coconut Creek, 41-20
This Week: vs. Miami Norland at FIU-North Miami
Comment: The Patriots handled the pressure of Miami Northwestern’s defense and won last week, but the attention now turns to Coconut Creek this week, the second of three opponents nationally ranked on the schedule.

2. Hallandale, 3-0, 4
Week 4: Defeated Stranahan, 42-0
This Week: vs. St. Thomas Aquinas
Comment: The Chargers quickly made easy work of Stranahan in the district opener. The momentum gained will help going into this week’s home game against, St. Thomas Aquinas.

3. North Marion, 4-0, 3
Week 3: Defeated Pasco, 47-12
This Week: vs. Gainesville
Comment: A rematch of playoff games of the past few years, North Marion proved to be no match for Pasco as the Colts ran over the Pirates. This week a confident Gainesville team comes in to town ready to hand the Colts their first defeat of the season.

4. Bishop Moore, 4-0, 4
Week 4:
Defeated Poinciana, 69-0
This Week: Idle
Comment: The Hornets made quick work of Poinciana to get their first win in district play and to stay undefeated on the season. The Hornets will take this week off before hitting the field again next week.

5. Wakulla, 3-1, 5
Week 4: Defeated Trinity Catholic, 40-14
This Week: vs. East Gadsden
Comment: The War Eagles marched on over to Ocala and easily claimed a victory over Trinity Catholic, which has struggled this season. Wakulla will return home this week to take on East Gadsden.

6. Jesuit, 4-0, 6
Week 4: Defeated Jefferson, 21-14
This Week: vs. Pasco
Comment: Jesuit got a closer than expected game out of Jefferson, but the most important thing was that they got the win and a district win at that. This week they host Pasco, a team that Jesuit has been familiar with over the years in the playoffs as well as the 1992 Class 3A state championship game.

7. Nature Coast, 4-0, 9
Week 4: Defeated Brooksville Central, 53-18
This Week: vs. Crystal River
Comment: Nature Coast has once again run over another team with a strong rushing attack that is being seen by opponents as hard to stop. This week they will host Crystal River which could decide even more of how the playoff landscape will look in the weeks ahead.

8. Suwannee, 2-1, 8
Week 4:
Defeated Yulee, 48-31
This Week: at Lake Wales
Comment: Suwannee got a run for their money with Yulee and that is part of the reason why they will hold steady in the rankings for now. This week they make a long trip to Polk County to take on Lake Wales.

9. Ponte Vedra, 4-0, NR
Week 4: Defeated Wolfson, 70-0
This Week: at Menendez
Comment: Ponte Vedra seems to be a team back on the rise and they are certainly gaining attention for scoring a ton of points each game. Will take on Menendez this week in a St. Johns County showdown.

10. Coconut Creek, 2–2, 7
Week 4: Lost to Plantation American Heritage, 41-20
This Week: Idle
Comment: Tough to make a call on bounching out Coconut Creek as they still have a chance to make noise if they beat Hallandale in a couple of weeks. For now they will rest up and come back next week to get ready for Cardinal Gibbons.

Dropped Out: No. 10 Rickards
