With the start of the 2015 FHSAA Playoffs this week, let’s take a look at some of the interesting numbers facts that will be along for the ride this year.
17 – Undefeated teams that are in the playoffs.
5 – Undefeated teams in Class 8A, the most of any of the eight classifications in the FHSAA State Series.
15 – Teams with losing records that are in the playoffs this year. Only one of those 15 teams is an actual district champion with that team being Trinity Catholic.
4 – Teams with losing records in the playoffs in Class 3A, the most any of the eight classifications in the FHSAA State Series.
1 – The number of wins that Eastside has entering the playoffs this year.
2 – Games that will be played on Thursday to open up the first round of the playoffs.
49 – Teams that have won at least 9 games this year that are in the playoffs.
12 – Teams that have won at least 9 games or more in Class 8A, the most of any of the eight classifications in the FHSAA State Series.
22 – District runner-up teams that have a better record than the opposing host team that is a district champion.
4 – Match-ups that will involve Top 10 teams in the first round of the playoffs according to FloridaHSFootball.com’s final rankings for the 2015 season.
510 – Points Trenton has scored coming into the playoffs, the most of any team in the playoffs.
49 – Points given up by Coral Gables in the regular season, the fewest of any team in the playoffs.
25 – Consecutive appearances by St. Thomas Aquinas in the playoffs dating back to 1991.
2 – Teams looking to possibly join Suwannee and North Florida Christian as the only teams to ever win four consecutive state championships in state history. The teams would be Miami Central and Booker T. Washington.
35 – Playoff appearances by Bolles, the most playoff appearances by any one team in FHSAA playoff history dating back to 1963.
9 – Teams that reached the playoffs for the first time in school history this season.
21 – Years between when Nova last reached the playoffs (1994) until reaching the playoffs again this season.
