We might be in the middle of summer, but that has not stopped some coaching changes from taking place. Here is the latest news:

Former Bishop Verot Head Coach Philip Dorn set to be named to spot at Fort Walton Beach

Seth Stringer of the Northwest Florida Daily News has reported that former Bishop Verot head coach and current Alabama A&M offensive coordinator Philip Dorn has been recommended to be hired as the next athletic director and football coach at Fort Walton Beach.

Dorn, who coached at Bishop Verot down in Fort Myers from 2006 until 2013 as the head football coach and athletic director, where he helped the Vikings have five winning seasons on the field.

Dorn’s recommendation to be hired will be up for a vote with the Okaloosa County School Board tonight at 6 p.m. CDT. If officially hired, he will replace Tommy Johnson who was forced to resign after one season due to failing a section for his teaching certificate, previously reported by the Northwest Florida Daily News.

You can read more on Dorn’s recommendation to be hired here.
