Former Bishop Verot Head Coach Philip Dorn set to be named to spot at Fort Walton Beach
Seth Stringer of the Northwest Florida Daily News has reported that former Bishop Verot head coach and current Alabama A&M offensive coordinator Philip Dorn has been recommended to be hired as the next athletic director and football coach at Fort Walton Beach.
Dorn, who coached at Bishop Verot down in Fort Myers from 2006 until 2013 as the head football coach and athletic director, where he helped the Vikings have five winning seasons on the field.
Dorn’s recommendation to be hired will be up for a vote with the Okaloosa County School Board tonight at 6 p.m. CDT. If officially hired, he will replace Tommy Johnson who was forced to resign after one season due to failing a section for his teaching certificate, previously reported by the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Dottavio leaving Cornerstone Charter to take job out-of-state
Florida High School Football has learned that Cornerstone Charter head coach Justin Dottavio is leaving the Orlando-area program for a job out-of-state.

Dottavio who has been the at Cornerstone Charter for the last several years, helped transition the program from independent status and into Class 2A this past season, staying in the playoff race with teams like Foundation Academy and Victory Christian until the very end of the season.
A classified ad has been placed by the school on the FHSAA website and is seeking an experienced football coach with interviews beginning immediately to fill the position.
