District Tournaments start Monday across this state this week in Girls Flag Football and we look at each of the four regions across the two FHSAA classifications in Girls Flag Football to give you some of our thoughts with the expanded district tournaments.
DISTRICT 1A-1
TEAMS: Fort Walton Beach, Fort Walton Beach Choctawhatchee, Gulf Breeze
GLANCE: What was once at least a six-team district saw some teams not make it to the start of the season or end up opting out of the district tournament. Choctawhatchee is by far the most dominant team here going into this tournament with QB Rowan Franklin leading the way for the Indians this season.
DISTRICT 1A-2
TEAMS: Crawfordville Wakulla, Madison County, Monticello Jefferson County, Tallahassee FAMU DRS, Tallahassee Florida High, Tallahassee Godby, Tallahassee Rickards
GLANCE: It is really hard to figure out what this district is about this year, given Godby had a coaching change prior to the season and everybody in the district alone has at least three losses on the season. If there is a safe bet you could likely look at FAMU DRS leading the way, but Rickards may be getting hot just at the right moment as they hold a surprising No. 2 seed in the district.

DISTRICT 1A-3
TEAMS: Baldwin, Jacksonville Andrew Jackson, Jacksonville Ed White, Jacksonville Lee, Jacksonville Paxon, Jacksonville Raines, Jacksonville Stanton, Jacksonville Terry Parker
GLANCE: We might have seen a possible preview of a district championship game last week when Ed White upset undefeated Stanton 12-7 in the Gateway Conference Tournament ending Stanton’s hopes of an undefeated bid to the playoffs. The question is, can the Commanders pull it off again this week or will Stanton get revenge? Do keep in mind that Andrew Jackson is lurking as well as a No. 2 seed and could spoil it all for everyone else.
DISTRICT 1A-4
TEAMS: Green Cove Springs Clay, Jacksonville Englewood, Jacksonville Westside, Jacksonville Wolfson, Middleburg, Orange Park, Orange Park Ridgeview, Starke Bradford
GLANCE: State-ranked Clay would have likely been the shoo-in for this district, but with upstart Middleburg pulling off the huge upset in the regular seed and snatching the No. 1 seed from the Blue Devils. Now the Broncos, who are also state-ranked, are looking to make their first regional playoff appearance in school history. However, the saying goes, it is difficult to beat the same team twice in the same season. Will it happen again?
