While some teams have already claimed a district championship, more teams were added to the list last week of teams in Class 5A through Class 8A and locked up playoff spots for next month. A few more will join the ranks this week Here is a look at where things stand right now in Class 6A as we head into Week 9.

Records show are district standings only, not overall records.

DISTRICT 6A-1

Pine Forest, 3-0
Gulf Breeze, 2-1
Booker T. Washington (Pensacola), 2-1
Escambia, 1-2
Milton, 0-4

OUTLOOK: Things are very simple this week for Pine Forest who took care of business last week against Gulf Breeze – get a win over Booker T. Washington and the Eagles will be playoff-bound as district champions. However, if the Wildcats get the upset, coupled with an Escambia win over Gulf Breeze would give the district to the Wildcats, but a Gulf Breeze win would set up a three-way tie scenario to be broken by the RPI.

DISTRICT 6A-2

Mosley, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Lincoln, 2-1
Rickards, 1-2
Choctawhatchee, 1-2
Fort Walton Beach, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Mosley has already clinched the district championship two weeks ago and finishes district play with a perfect record.

DISTRICT 6A-3

Columbia, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Riverside, 2-1
Englewood, 1-2
Westside, 1-2
Orange Park, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Columbia clinched the district two weeks ago and that along comes a playoff berth for the Tigers.

DISTRICT 6A-4

St. Augustine, 3-0
Gainesville, 3-0
Middleburg, 1-2
Matanzas, 1-3
Ridgeview, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Gainesville will travel to St. Augustine this week to determine the district’s champion which would give the winner a playoff berth as well.

DISTRICT 6A-5

Vanguard, 2-0
Belleview, 2-1
Springstead, 1-1
Lecanto, 0-3

OUTLOOK: For Vanguard, the mission is simple this week and that is to defeat Springstead. However, if Springstead pulls off the upset, a three-way tie scenario for the district would be at play and the final RPI would break the tie.

DISTRICT 6A-6

Jones, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Lake Minneola, 2-2
Mainland, 2-1
New Smyrna Beach, 1-3
South Lake, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Well Jones simply did what it needed to do last week, and that was taken care of business against Lake Minneola, clinching the district championship and playoff berth.

DISTRICT 6A-7

Auburndale, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Lake Wales, 2-1
Heritage (Palm Bay), 1-2
Eau Gallie, 1-2
Gateway (Kissimmee), 0-3

OUTLOOK: Auburndale did what it was supposed to last week and that was win over Eau Gallie, thus clinching the district championship and a playoff berth for the Bloodhounds.

DISTRICT 6A-8

Port St. Lucie, 2-0
South Fork, 2-0
Suncoast, 0-2
Okeechobee, 0-2

OUTLOOK: Port St. Lucie or South Fork will be headed to the playoffs as district champions by simply winning this week’s matchup. It is just that simple.

DISTRICT 6A-9

Countryside, 3-0 – CLINCHED
River Ridge, 2-1
Sunlake, 2-2
Fivay, 1-2
Freedom (Tampa), 0-3

OUTLOOK: Countryside took care of business last week against Sunlake clinching the district championship and playoff berth for the Cougars.

DISTRICT 6A-10

Jesuit, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Hillsborough, 3-1
King, 1-2
Jefferson, 1-2
Blake, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Everything fell in place last week with Jesuit defeating Blake and Hillsborough taking care of business against King to give the Tigers the district championship and a playoff berth.

DISTRICT 6A-11

Boca Ciega, 4-0
Pinellas Park, 3-1
Northeast (St. Petersburg), 3-1
Hollins, 1-3
Seminole (Seminole), 2-2
St. Petersburg, 0-4

OUTLOOK: Mission is pretty simple for Boca Ciega – take care of business against Pinellas Park and win the district championship and clinch a playoff berth. If Pinellas Park wins coupled with a Northeast win this week, a district tie-breaker scenario would be in play for the district and would not be determined until the final RPI rankings are released.

DISTRICT 6A-12

Sumner, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Braden River, 2-1
Southeast, 1-2
Spoto, 1-2
Brandon, 0-3

OUTLOOK: The unthinkable happened as Sumner who is in their first full season of varsity play and the first season being state series eligible clinched the district championship and a playoff berth over Braden River.

DISTRICT 6A-13

Dunbar, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Fort Myers, 3-1
Charlotte, 2-2
North Fort Myers, 2-2
Ida Baker, 1-3
Cape Coral, 0-4

OUTLOOK: Dunbar took care of business against Ida Baker giving the Tigers a playoff berth and a district championship.

DISTRICT 6A-14

Naples, 4-0 – CLINCHED
South Fort Myers, 3-1
Lely, 2-2
Barron Collier, 2-2
Golden Gate, 1-3
East Lee County, 1-3

OUTLOOK: Naples took care of business with a huge win over South Fort Myers to clinch the district championship and a playoff berth.

DISTRICT 6A-15

Coconut Creek, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Plantation, 3-1
Boyd Anderson, 1-2
Hollywood Hills, 1-1
Northeast (Oakland Park), 0-3

OUTLOOK: Coconut Creek easily handled things against Boyd Anderson, giving the Cougars the district championship and a playoff berth.

DISTRICT 6A-16

Miami Northwestern, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Miami Norland, 2-1
Belen Jesuit, 1-2
South Miami, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Miami Northwestern clinched the district championship and a playoff berth last week when the Bulls defeated South Miami.
