While some teams have already claimed a district championship, more teams were added to the list last week of teams in Class 5A through Class 8A and locked up playoff spots for next month. A few more will join the ranks this week Here is a look at where things stand right now in Class 7A as we head into Week 9.

Records show are district standings only, not overall records.

DISTRICT 7A-1

Niceville, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Navarre, 2-1
Crestview, 2-1
Pace, 1-3
Tate, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Niceville handled business last week against Navarre, clinching the district championship and a playoff berth for the Eagles.

DISTRICT 7A-2

Buchholz, 2-0
Chiles, 1-1
Forest, 1-1
Leon, 0-2

OUTLOOK: All Buchholz has to do this week is simply beat Forest for the district championship. An upset by Forest would give the district to them or if a Chiles win over Leon could set up a three-way tie scenario to be broken by the RPI rankings.

DISTRICT 7A-3

Fletcher, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Nease, 3-1
Fleming Island, 3-1
Atlantic Coast, 1-3
Ponte Vedra, 1-3
First Coast, 0-4

OUTLOOK: Fletcher clinched with a victory over First Coast last week, sending the Senators into the playoffs as a district champion.

DISTRICT 7A-4

Spruce Creek, 3-0 – CLINCHED
University (Orange City), 2-1
Winter Springs, 1-2
Lyman, 2-2
Lake Howell, 0-3

OUTLOOK: With University taking care of business against Winter Springs, Spruce Creek was able to clinch the district championship last week while taking a loss to Cocoa in a non-district matchup.

DISTRICT 7A-5

Lake Gibson, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Lakeland, 2-1
Bartow, 1-2
Kathleen, 1-2
George Jenkins, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Lake Gibson took care of business against Kathleen last week giving the Braves the district championship and a playoff berth.

DISTRICT 7A-6

Edgewater, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Wekiva, 2-1
Ridge Community, 1-2
Winter Haven, 1-2
East Ridge, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Edgewater handled business last week and clinched the district championship and playoff berth for the Eagles.

DISTRICT 7A-7

Melbourne, 3-0
Viera, 3-0
Harmony, 1-2
East River, 1-3
St. Cloud, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Melbourne and Viera each have one goal in mind – to get the win this week and clinch a district championship and playoff berth for their respective programs.

DISTRICT 7A-8

Martin County, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Dwyer, 2-1
Seminole Ridge, 2-1
Sebastian River, 1-2
Fort Pierce Westwood, 0-4

OUTLOOK: The Tigers took care of business against Dwyer, getting the victory, a district championship and clinching a playoff berth.

DISTRICT 7A-9

Gaither, 3-1
Mitchell, 2-1
Largo, 2-1
Sickles, 1-2
Leto, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Some interesting things lurk this week in the district. First, Mitchell needs a win over to Sickles to stay in the hunt for the district championship. However, if Mitchell falls and Largo wins over Leto, Gaither will win the district championship. Now if Largo were to be upset by Leto, and Mitchell wins, Mitchell would win the district. Now if both Michell and Largo lose this week, Gaither would also win the district in that scenario. For Largo, they have to win to keep their hope for a district championship with a three-way tie and having the RPI break the tie.

DISTRICT 7A-10

Tampa Bay Tech, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Wharton, 2-1
Armwood, 2-1
Wiregrass Ranch, 1-3
Strawberry Crest, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Tampa Bay Tech simply took care of business against Wharton after going down early and clinched the district championship and a playoff berth.

DISTRICT 7A-11

Palmetto, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Bloomingdale, 2-1
Manatee, 2-1
East Bay, 0-3
Lennard, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Palmetto simply did what it was supposed to do and that was get the win over Bloomingdale to clinch the district championship and playoff berth last week.

DISTRICT 7A-12

Lehigh, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Palmetto Ridge, 1-1
Riverdale, 1-1
North Port, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Lehigh took care of business against Palmetto Ridge last week to clinch the district championship and a playoff berth for the Lightning.

DISTRICT 7A-13

Fort Lauderdale, 3-0
Atlantic (Delray Beach), 3-0
Piper, 1-2
Blanche Ely, 0-3
Olympic Heights, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Fort Lauderdale and Atlantic will meet up this week to decide the district champion and who will get a playoff berth. The goal is simple – win and you are in.

DISTRICT 7A-14

St. Thomas Aquinas, 3-0 – CLINCHED
Dillard, 3-1
Cooper City, 2-2
Nova, 1-2
South Plantation, 0-4

OUTLOOK: St. Thomas Aquinas got the win over Dillard coupled with Cooper City defeating Nova to clinch the district championship and a playoff berth last week.

DISTRICT 7A-15

Miramar, 3-0 – CLINCHED
South Broward, 2-1
North Miami, 2-2
McArthur, 1-2
Everglades, 0-3

OUTLOOK: Miramar clinched the district two weeks ago with their win over McArthur.

DISTRICT 7A-16

Homestead, 4-0 – CLINCHED
Doral Academy, 3-1
Miami Southridge, 2-2
Mater Academy, 1-3
Hialeah, 0-4

OUTLOOK: With Homestead clinched the district with their win over Doral Academy in Week 9.
