Congratulations to Westminster Academy’s linebacker Michael (Mikee) Varga for being voted scoutSMART’s Florida High School Player of the Week for September 19-25!
The sophomore helped lead his team to victory on Friday, Sep 09, 2022 over St. Brendan Christian with 7 tackles, 2TFL, 2 Forced Fumbles and Fumble Recovery. Varga was also named MAXPREPS Overall Player of the Game for his performance. In the team’s most recent game against SLAM Palm Beach, Varga put up impressive numbers with 11 tackles, 5 TFL, 2 sacks and 1 INT.
The impressive young player has a bright future ahead of him. After completing his freshman season at Coral Springs Charter School, Varga transferred to Westminster Academy where he is clearly proving himself to be a valuable and influential player on the team’s roster.
“Michael plays the game with a lot of energy and passion. He is an old-school type of player who loves to hit,” Westminster Academy’s Head Coach Ehren Wallhoff said. “I love having him on our team because he is a tough nose football guy.”
Varga received more than 1,100 votes this week, continue to vote for scoutSMART Florida Player of the Week to recognize your favorite players! Winners will be announced every Friday on scoutSmart’s twitter.
