Welcome to the FloridaHSFootball.com Power Rankings Index. The index ranks teams and forecasts games based on the strength of schedule, including the strength of opposition and margin of victory, with more recent games weighing more heavily as a factor. The forecasted margin of victory is determined by subtracting the power ranking of the lower-rated team from the power ranking of the higher-rated team.
While it should be noted that things look similar in style to what the legendary Joe Pinkos did in determining his forecasts (which we honor his legacy in formatting the forecast the way he did), the formula created here is not the formula from Joe’s which was a secret and unfortunately lost when Joe passed away almost two years ago. We can only begin to guess what his formula looked like, but we believe we have created a formula that should work to predict games that will come with tweaks here and there along the way in due time.
Game forecasts are sorted by classification of favorites and listed alphabetically. The underdog’s classification is noted for inter-classification games.
