25 athletes from the Jacksonville market were selected to be recognized among the top flag football athletes from the 2024 season
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In partnership with FloridaHSFootball.com, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Jacksonville Jaguars Community Foundation recognized 25 outstanding Flag Football athletes in the Jacksonville Jaguars market with their names being a part of the 2024 Jaguars All-PREP Flag Football Team.
This year’s team saw the number of athletes recognized expand from 15 athletes to 25 athletes from the first two years of recognition that started in 2022.
At the recognition event held on Wed. May 8, 2024 at Academy Sports + Outdoors location on Southside Blvd. in Jacksonville, the 25 athletes were celebrated for their accomplishments along with receiving a customized Jaguars jersey with their last name and number they wore on the field, a Jaguars swag box filled with gear and other Jaguars goodies, plus each athlete received a $200 shopping spree to use that evening at Academy Sports + Outdoors as part of getting something for Mom for Mother’s Day this coming weekend.
In addition to all the goodies and rewards given to each of the athletes, one athlete was named Jaguars All-PREP Player of the Year while one coach was named the Jaguars All-PREP Coach of the Year. Both Player of the Year and the Coach of the Year received customized cleats as an award that were designed by the same artist that the Jaguars use for “My Cause, My Cleats,” an NFL supported effort to support athletes to represent their favorite causes through the use of their game day cleats each season on the designated day for “My Cause, My Cleats.”

Jenkins is considered to be the most dynamic player that her coach, Clint Lyons has ever been around and also was nominated by multiple coaches in the Jacksonville-area to be this year’s Jaguars All-PREP Player of the Year. Jenkins finished her senior year with over 1,835 total yards with 21 rushing TDs, 6 receiving TDs, 5 passing TDs along with 13 interceptions on defense with 4 of those returned for TDs. This is Jenkins second time being selected to the Jaguars All-PREP Flag Football Team.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Bachir Saoud, Ed White (Jacksonville)
Nominated by several area coaches for Coach of the Year, Saoud led the Commanders to a district championship, the Gateway Conference championship and to the regional finals on a roster that was younger than the 2023 team. For his efforts, Saoud will receive a $2,500 grant from the Jacksonville Jaguars to help support the future teams of Ed White Commanders Flag Football.

2024 JAGUARS ALL-PREP FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM
WR/QB/S Catherine Brewer, Stanton (Jacksonville), Jr.
According to Brewer’s coach, Chris Crider, Brewer is one of the most versatile players and valuable because of her ability to throw on the run as a second quarterback option along with being super speedy.
WR/LB/P Courtney Brown, Stanton (Jacksonville), Sr.
According to Stanton head coach, Chris Crider, Brown had many long TD’s and was a true game changer for the Blue Devils while often the fastest player on the field and has great escape-ability. Super bright kid and was one of three recipients of the Jaguars Prep scholarship for girls who play football. This year’s recognition for Brown marks the third time she has been named to the Jaguars All-PREP Flag Football team.
WR/CB/S Brooke Cooper, Middleburg, Sr.
According to first-year head coach James Black, Brooke was the silent leader of the team. She lead by example and was the leading receiver for the Broncos team with close to 600 yards on 42 plus receptions. She scored 10 touchdowns during the season and has 56 total points. She is a mainstay on defense playing both CB and Safety. She has 2 interceptions and at least 15 pass breakups while playing on defense.
QB Jasmine Cross, Fletcher (Neptune Beach), Jr.
According to Cross’s head coach, Bradley Ashmore, she had at least 500 attempts during the season with Over 2,000 yards passing and was only intercepted five times, plus leading the Senators to a huge victory over 2023 Class 2A state runner-up Fleming Island.
LB/RB/S Paola Cruz, Crescent City, Jr.
Cruz was the leading player for the Raiders and is the first athlete selected from Crescent City to the Jaguars All-PREP Flag Football Team. Cruz finished the season with 58 flag pulls, 17 interceptions on defense. On offense Cruz registered 49 catches, 691 receiving yards, 4 TDs along with 44 carries, 648 yards rushing and one touchdown.
QB Devyn Dudones, Fleming Island, Jr.
According to head coach Clint Lyons, Dudones had over 1,100 yards passing with 8 TDs and threw for 20 extra points. Also has 385 yards rushing with 1 rushing TD and 5 extra points rushing. She also accounted for 2 receiving touchdowns and 4 receiving extra points.
WR/LB Gaby Fajardo, Stanton (Jacksonville), Sr.
According to Blue Devils head coach Chris Crider, Fajardo has great hands and a ton of flag pulls for a loss and interceptions. Crider said as coaches, we can’t take all the credit because she plays way above the X’s and O’s while saying Fajardo is a great kid, who never missed practice.
WR/DB Irvieona Gantt, Mandarin (Jacksonville), Sr.
For the season, Gantt had 60 catches, 769 yards receiving, and 7 touchdowns on offense. She also recorded 19 flag pulls and 6 interceptions on defense.
QB Ansley Hicks, Paxon (Jacksonville), Sr.
The leading athlete for the Golden Eagles, she had 78-of-163 passing attempts, 752 yards, 15 TDs; 83 carries, 927 yards rushing, 10 TDs; Also had 27 catches for 324 yards receiving, 3 TDs. On defense she recorded 34 tackles and 4 sacks.
WR Lily Holden, Bartram Trail (St. Johns), Jr.
Holden had 47 catches for 823 yards receiving and 7 touchdowns in the Bears’ first season as a flag program. She becomes the first athlete from Bartram Trail to be selected to the Jaguars All-PREP Flag Football Team.
DB/WR Reese Holman, Paxon (Jacksonville), Soph.
Only a sophomore, Holman was a leader on defense with 78 flag pulls, 3 sacks, 7 interceptions with 4 of those returned for a TD. Holman also had 39 catches, 438 yards receiving, 9 TDs on offense.
ATH Kyra Jackson, Ed White (Jacksonville), Soph.
Leading the Commanders, went 148-of-253 passing for 1,233 yards and 13 TDs while rushing for 541 yards on 77 carries and 9 more TDs. On defense, she recorded 30 flag pulls, 1 sack, 1 QB hurry, 9 interceptions, and deflected 13 passes. Kyra was also selected as the Jaguars Flag Football Player of the Week during Week 2 of the season.
WR/QB/S/MLB Cheyenne Jenkins, Middleburg, Sr.
Head Coach James Black described the graduation senior as the vocal leader for the Broncos. Black also said Jenkins played with all heart and gave all she had to the team while also being like a coach on the field. At receiver she had 22 receptions for 402 yards and three touchdowns. At quarterback she threw for almost 400 yards and 3 touchdowns. On defense she was the last line of defense for on all passing attempts. She had over 15 solo flag pulls, over 15 passes defended and two interceptions.

R Lily Kalil, Clay (Green Cove Springs), Jr.
At the time the we received the statistics from Clay Flag Football Head Coach Jared Moses, Kalil had 40 flag pulls, 29 sacks. Kalil helped guide the Blue Devils to the State Quarterfinals this season.
C/OLB Shelby McClain, Clay (Green Cove Springs), Sr.
At the time the we received the statistics from Clay Flag Football Head Coach Jared Moses, McClain had 92 catches, 622 yards receiving, 7 TDs on offense while having 56 flag pulls, 8 INTs with 2 returned for TD, 6 pass deflections on defense. McClain helped guide the Blue Devils to the State Quarterfinals this season.
ATH Ashley Mohrmann, Fletcher (Neptune Beach), Sr.
According to Senator’s head coach Bradley Ashmore, Mohrmann had over 1,000 yards receiving and 17 TDs, while recording over 100 flag pulls and 10 interceptions on defense. The Senators had their best season in program history that included reaching the regional finals.
QB Teaghan Moses, Clay (Green Cove Springs), Soph.
At the time the we received the statistics from Clay Flag Football Head Coach Jared Moses, Teaghan had went 248-of-359 passing, 2,079 yards, 31 TDs; 57 carries, 265 yards rushing, 4 TDs. She help guided the Blue Devils to the Class 1A State Quarterfinals this season and is the daughter of the head coach.
LB Gabi Musa, Fleming Island, Sr.
According to head coach Clint Lyons, Musa had 92 flag pulls and 8 interceptions and has chipped in with 485 yards of offense and considered the glue of the Golden Eagles’ defense this season.
QB Alexis Pabon, Mandarin (Jacksonville), Sr.
Pabon helped guided the Mustangs to the regional playoffs going 200-of-297 passing for 2,023 yards and 20 touchdowns. Pabon is also a recipient of Jaguars Flag Football Player of the Week honors during Week 3 of the season.
R Elyhana Perez-Stevenson, Ed White (Jacksonville), Soph.
Recorded 93 flag pulls and 25 sacks for the Commanders district championship season that included the Gateway Conference title and reaching the regional finals in the Class 1A playoffs.
RB/SS/ATH Tyra Pierce, Ed White (Jacksonville), Sr.
Rushed for 1,066 yards on 124 carries and scored 11 TDs, while hauling in 47 catches for 438 yards and 3 TDs. Pierce also accounted for 2 passing TDs on offense. Defensively, Pierce had 43 flag pulls, 2 QB hurries, and 13 interceptions. Pierce also punted for over 1,100 yards on punts as the primary punter for the Commanders. Pierce was the Jaguars Flag Football Player of the Week during Week 6 of the season.
QB/S Ashley Purdy, Sandalwood (Jacksonville), Jr.
The Saints quarterback threw for 3,080 yards and 20 TDs while also rushing for 117 yards and 3 TDs; Also accounted for 1 receiving TD on offense and had 2 interceptions on defense. This is Purdy’s third time being selected to the Jaguars All-PREP Flag Football Team and she also earned Jaguars Flag Football Player of the Week honors during Week 4 of the season.
WR/LB Katie Rodney, Fletcher (Neptune Beach), Sr.
According to Fletcher head coach Bradley Ashmore, Rodney was dynamic as a receiver with over 1,000 yards receiving and 17 TDs while also recording over 100 flag pulls and five interceptions on defense. Rodney was one of the key reasons that guided the Senators to their historic season including a historic victory in the regional semifinals over Fleming Island, the 2023 Class 2A state runner-up.
ATH Gaby Rourke, Atlantic Coast (Jacksonville), Sr.
The multi-sport athlete and University of Kentucky soccer signee had 1,045 yards receiving and 17 TDs with 87 receptions on offense. On defense, she recorded 16 interceptions with three of those returned for TDs and recorded 31 flag pulls. Rourke also averaged 37.7 yards as a punter as well for the Stingrays. Rourke also earned the final Jaguars Flag Football Player of the Week honors during Week 7 of the season.
