ALL-STATE FOOTBALL: 2024 Class 2A All-State Football Award Winners

It is time to honor the best of the best among our All-State Honorees with our All-State Awards Selections. With the selections we have five award winners with Overall Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Specialist of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

While it is hard to just pick just one selection. All the athletes and coaches considered for each of the selections are very deserving of the honors.

Without further ado, here are the winners for the 2024 FloridaHSFootball.com All-State Team Awards for Class 2A and congratulations to all our award winners!

CLASS 2A OVERALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

QB Brady Hart, Cocoa, Sr.

There was no other quarterback in the state even close to touching the numbers that Hart had in 2024, throwing for 4,360 yards, completing 265-of-390 passing attempts, and throwing 40 touchdowns against just eight interceptions plus adding in 166 yards rushing and two more touchdowns in his senior year. All of that helped guide the Tigers to a third consecutive state championship in 2024 as Hart heads off to Texas A&M.

CLASS 2A OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

WR Jayvan Boggs, Cocoa, Sr.

Coming up just short of breaking the single season receiving record in Florida, Boggs has been a top target for the Tigers passing game over the last few years and this season was no different. To Boggs’ credit he hauled in a whopping 2,133 yards receiving on 99 receptions and scored 21 touchdowns while helping guide Cocoa to a third consecutive state championship as Boggs heads off to Florida State as Seminoles signee.

CLASS 2A DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

DB Ben Hanks Jr., Booker T. Washington (Miami)

It was hard making a selection for defensive player of the year as all three candidates were worthy of the award, but Hanks won out due his presence on the field and confusing offenses along the way intercepting 13 passes and racking up 40 tackles. The Florida Gators signee also added 255 yards receiving and three touchdowns on offense, making him a key contributor to the Tornadoes’ run to the state semifinals in 2024.

CLASS 2A SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR

K Cole Allbaugh, Florida High (Tallahassee), Sr.

Not only can Allbaugh kick field goals and long ones at that, he can also punt really well and all of that combined gives him the Specialist of the Year Award for Class 2A. In 2024 Allbaugh was a perfect 37-of-37 on point after attempts while going 16-of-19 on field goals with his longest coming from 42 yards out. And on the punting side of things, Allbaugh averaged 45.2 yards per punt pinning opponents seven times inside the 20.

CLASS 2A CO-COACHES OF THE YEAR

Ryan Schneider, Cocoa & Ed Johnson, Newberry

This was another difficult award to choose from and honestly there is a lot of recognition that needs to go to both coaches. First to Ryan Schneider at Cocoa who guided the Tigers to third consecutive state championship behind a very potent offense and a stout defense that played one of the toughest schedules anywhere in the nation in reaching for the Class 2A title. And for Ed Johnson at Newberry, his Panthers shocked the state when the pitched an almost perfect game plan against Bradford (Starke) in the regular season, knocking off a state runner-up from 2023 and then doing it again in the playoffs before falling to Cocoa in the regional finals. Johnson has been building up the Panthers for a long while and they are going to be a team to keep an eye on in the years to come and thus why he deserves the honors as well.
