ALL-STATE FOOTBALL: 2024 Class 3A All-State Football Award Winners

It is time to honor the best of the best among our All-State Honorees with our All-State Awards Selections. With the selections we have five award winners with Overall Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Specialist of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

While it is hard to just pick just one selection. All the athletes and coaches considered for each of the selections are very deserving of the honors.

Without further ado, here are the winners for the 2024 FloridaHSFootball.com All-State Team Awards for Class 3A and congratulations to all our award winners!

CLASS 3A OVERALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR

QB Leon Strawder, Miami Northwestern, Jr.

What a season Strawder had, helping guide the Bulls to a 12-2 record and the Class 3A state championship under first-year head coach Teddy Bridgewater. Strawder, to his credit, threw 3,038 yards and 45 touchdowns on 187-of-283 pass completions. Strawder also accounted for four rushing touchdowns with over 200 yards of rushing.

CLASS 3A OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

QB/ATH Timothy “TJ” Cole, Raines, Jr.

Leading Raines to the a state championship game for the first time since the 2018 season, the sensational quarterback for the Vikings threw for 2,857 yards and 43 touchdowns on 177-of-287 pass completions, while adding 1,007 yards rushing on the ground and nine more touchdowns, making Cole a dynamic playmaker for the 2026 class.

CLASS 3A DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

DL Otis Guyton, Miami Central, Sr.

Guyton had a tremendous season despite the fact a postseason berth was stripped away from the Rockets, should not discredit why Guyton is the Class 3A Defensive Player of the Year. To his credit Guyton racked up 53 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and 16 sacks. Had the Rockets made the deep playoff run, which many had expected, Guyton’s numbers would be even higher. As such, with this knowledge makes Guyton a clear choice for the award.

CLASS 3A SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR

KR Xavier Lherisse, Eau Gallie (Melbourne), Jr.

If there was one athlete on all of Eau Gallie’s roster that was an X-factor for the historic run the Commodores had in 2024, it was Lherisse and here is why he is our Class 3A Specialist of the Year. Outside of the Miami Northwestern game in the state semifinals where we do not have stats on, racked up 1,434 all-purpose yards including 342 kick return yards and 106 punt return yards. Overall he was responsible for 14 total touchdowns, 10 which came on offense and two on kickoff returns. The other two come on defense, where he was just as an important factor racking up 41 tackles, six interceptions and three pass deflections. As you see, no matter what down it was and who had the ball Lherisse could be found on the field and contributing in all aspects of the game for the Commodores, and thus is why he is our Class 3A Specialist of the Year.

CLASS 3A CO-COACHES OF THE YEAR

Teddy Bridgewater, Miami Northwestern & Chris Sands, Eau Gallie (Melbourne)

When it comes to giving out this award and looking at everything we have to say both Bridgewater and Sands have earn their due respect for what they did in 2024. First let’s start with Teddy Bridgewater. In just one year he turned his alma mater at Miami Northwestern around from being outside of the playoffs and struggling to keep athletes home to back to the powerhouse it was known as when he played for the Bulls with athletes wanting to play for him. If that doesn’t say the kind of pull Bridgewater has, then we are not sure what does. As for Chris Sands, his team took everything in stride and made the deepest playoff run in Eau Gallie program history, reaching the state semifinals for the first time. With the talent that has come about in recent years for the Commodores, the blood, sweat and tears is starting to payoff. As such, with some talented athletes returning in 2025, Sands has put Eau Gallie on the map and a team that we won’t be able to keep our eyes off.
