ALL-STATE FOOTBALL: 2024 Class 3A All-State Football Teams

Welcome to the fifth part of our extensive and exciting time in recognizing the top athletes in every FHSAA classification and the Sunshine State Athletic Association, with the return of our All-State teams after a one-year hiatus.

900 student-athletes in total will have been named to these all-state teams between first-team, second-team, and honorable mention selections. In 2023, over 38,000 student-athletes played football in Florida, according to the FHSAA. As such, just over 2.4% of the student-athletes who play high school football are represented on the all-state teams.

We come back with our All-State teams with a reformulated approach to selecting all-state teams, and here is how we tackled the selection process:

Compiled statistical information regarding every position involving every classification and the SSAA.

Considered all-area/all-county teams in the selection process, especially in areas where multiple recognitions are possible.

Strength of Schedule was considered essential in deciding placement on each all-state team.

Some positions require minimum yardage to be considered in offensive positions. As such, quarterbacks with over 1,500 yards passing, rushers with over 1,000 yards rushing, and receivers with over 500 yards receiving were considered. Some flexibility is given depending upon unique circumstances.

To be considered, athletes had to play in at least 70% of games played during the season. This accounts for injuries any athlete might have sustained that kept them out of a game or two. Sometimes, there are exceptions to the rule, but they are only flexed in unique circumstances, as determined by FloridaHSFootball.com Staff.

35 athletes were selected for each first and second team, with 15 athletes selected for the offense, 15 for defense, and five for special teams. 30 athletes were chosen regardless of position for Honorable Mention. That means a total of 100 athletes are represented on each all-state team.

Long Snappers were considered based on team strength and rankings from one of three reputable kicking and long-snapping services that rank long snappers nationwide. The services from which information was considered are Kohl’s Professional Camps, Kornblue Kicking, and Rubio Long Snapping.

No athlete could double up for multiple selections on the all-state teams.

Individual honors are separate and independent of each all-state team. To be considered for an individual honor, an athlete must have been selected to the first team for offense, defense, or special teams in their respective classifications.

We now roll on with Class 3A with our 2024 Class 3A All-State Team as the fifth of our nine all-state teams to be released on FloridaHSFootball.com.
