Here is a look at how Florida Top 25 and other notable teams did this past week in Girls Flag Football action in Central Florida with our latest Flag Football Final for Week 4 of the season from March 10-15, 2025.

No. 22 New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach 26, Seabreeze 6 (Tuesday); Spruce Creek 6, New Smyrna Beach 0 (Thursday)

The Barracudas had a split week and suffered their second loss in less than a week, losing to Spruce Creek, to end the week and enter spring break. Emma Corr had 178 yards passing and three touchdowns in the win against Seabreeze, along with 76 yards rushing and a touchdown, but she struggled to get things going in the game against Spruce Creek, where she had only 55 yards passing and 45 yards rushing with no touchdowns. Corr recorded seven flag pulls in the game against Seabreeze, while Z Toledo had eight flag pulls and a sack between both games. New Smyrna Beach is now facing potentially having a couple of athletes out for a while who were injured in the game against Spruce Creek.

OTHER NOTABLE TEAMS

2A No. 9 Gateway (Kissimmee)

Gateway 7, Osceola (Kissimmee) 0 (Monday); St. Cloud 8, Gateway (Kissimmee) 6; Celebration 22, Gateway (Kissimmee) 7 (Thursday)

The Panthers struggled this week, unable to go far in the Orange Belt Conference tournament involving all eight Osceola County high schools. Ashlynn Day scored the only touchdown in their victory over Osceola, while Evana Rivera recorded 156 yards receiving and a touchdown in their loss to St. Cloud. The Panthers’ two losses could have them on the outside looking in with the Class 2A rankings next week.

Apopka

Horizon 25, Apopka 19 (Monday); Apopka 27, Belleview 19 (Wednesday)

A split 1-1 week for the Blue Darters will likely still have them looking on the outside in the Class 4A rankings next week, especially after a loss to a still undefeated Horizon team. Apopka defeated Florida Top 25 team No. 25 Belleview in midweek action to go into the spring break off week on a high note.

Celebration

Celebration 40, Tohopekaliga 0 (Monday); Harmony 13, Celebration 12 (Tuesday); Celebration 22, Gateway (Kissimmee) 7 (Thursday)

Going 2-1 in the Orange Belt Conference tournament is not bad, considering coming up just one point short against Harmony, who has been a traditional powerhouse in the Osceola County flag football ranks for years. Isabel Meadows threw for 555 yards and eight touchdowns across the three games while also adding 214 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground. Sophomore Mariann Houck showed off some skills with 19 flag pulls, three sacks, and eight quarterback hurries in the games against Tohopekaliga and Harmony, while the defense recorded nine interceptions in the games against Tohopekaliga and Gateway. The Storm enters spring break with a 9-1 overall record.

Orangewood Christian

Faith Christian 6, Orangewood Christian 0 (Tuesday); Orangewood Christian 13, Orlando Science Charter 6 (Wednesday)

The Rams started the week on the wrong side of the scoreboard, losing 6-0 to Faith Christian. However, they did pick up a win over Orlando Science Charter to enter the spring break period at 6-1.

Spruce Creek

Spruce Creek 13, Flagler Palm Coast 0 (Tuesday); Spruce Creek 6, New Smyrna Beach 0 (Thursday)

The Hawks will enter spring break undefeated after shutting out both Flagler Palm Coast and New Smyrna Beach – the latter ranked No. 22 in The Florida Top 25. In the game against Flagler Palm Coast, Jillian Truax went 14-of-20, passing for 151 yards, but threw three interceptions. However, Truax did end up rushing for both touchdowns as she had five carries for 42 yards on the night. Elizabeth Phillips and Zion Willis combined for five sacks in the game, with Emani McCaskill leading the Hawks with nine flag pulls. and recorded two of the team’s five interceptions in the game against the Bulldogs. Stats from the New Smyrna Beach were unavailable as of press time.
