PORT ORANGE – Buster Davis is going home to his native Volusia County, where he once played for the Mainland High Buccaneers, his alma mater.
Davis, who was the head coach at McArthur this past season, will become the new head football coach at Atlantic High School, according to the Buddy Collings of the The Orlando Sentinel.
According to the report, Davis replaces Tim Smith as the head coach, after Smith stepped back in to coach the team for the 2014 season due to the firing of former head coach Pa’trell Troutman just a day before the opening of the 2014 season. Smith still remains at the school as the athletic director.
Davis, has previously been the head coach at Duval Charter and Admiral Farragut before spending this past season at McArthur.
