Venice High has a pretty darn good football team. They lead Stephenville 30-0 at halftime. Second half was a much better half for the young Jackets. They held Venice to 7 pts and scored 8 pts. We heard Venice has approx. 2,200 students?! That's more than double the size of Stephenville High. Good experience though. Final score, 37-8 Venice.

Another out of state opponent for the Stephenville Yellow Jackets in class 4A. This makes the 5th out of state game for the Jackets in 4 years. Last year, the week 1 game was against Anchorage South High (AK). They had issues with the heat! Stephenville cruised to a 43-0 win. The year before was against Prepa Tech (MX) 17-16 win for the Jackets and then Dillard High (FL) which the heat finally took a toal on the Panthers in the 4th quarter allowing the Jackets to pull away with a 46-32 win. What will tonight's game hold as they face Venice High (FL) which is a class 7A school in Florida? They get to experience what another solid Florida HS football program has to offer. Should be a good game as Stephenville has several young new players stepping up from a highly Sr. loaded team from last season. I'll try to update how the game plays out. Wuz up MIGHTY_DILLARD_PANTHERS?! Just checking in from Texas. Our Stephenville Yellow Jackets went out 2 games from the State Championship game last season. Our All-American QB suffered a broken hand earlier is the season but came back just in time for the playoffs. Had a great run. This year, we lost some keys players due to graduation. Jarrett Stidham QB is at Baylor and future All-State RB Kaegun Williams transferred out to Cedar Hill, which is a 6A size school outside of Dallas. BUT, we still have several key starters from last year's team to make some noise this season. This week, we host the Venice High Indians from your home state of FL! Know anything about them? Seem to be a pretty solid program. Hope all is well!

Ha exactly! How is DHP's doing this year? Stephenville has a weaker opponent scheduled for tonight... one of those score as many as the coaches allow kind of games. Will be a good game for the 2nd and 3rd stringers to get some reps. Stephenville will be playing a live game on ESPN2 on Sept 18th, a Thrusday night vs Lubbock Cooper. The QB Stidham is national ranked like #3 Dual threat QB in the nation. Guess that's what inticed ESPN.
