Not sure how the panhandle will fair.
Choctaw retained a bit of their talent from last year, so they'll remain competitive. Niceville as well should have a good season. Pensacola may be competitive again?
I'd probably pick Choctaw for a 7A run.

What would tier 9 be?

Go home everyone.

At this stage they are the 3rd best team in the district behind Gainesville and vanguard but that can change as the year goes on
I'm looking forward to seeing how they do this year, hope they can finally beat GHS
That'd be neat to see, Gainesville getting ousted or Vanguard.

Columbia basketball going hard this year?
-
Yea, 6A and 1A I agree with.
I'm on edge about Crestview though, that Gulf Breeze game was sloppy with penalties and defense.
-
Navarre 49 - Niceville 47
Crestview 38 - Gulf Breeze 35
Escambia 28 - Pine Forest 0
St Augustine 49 - Tate 14

Is Crestview better than last years team after losing the QB and all the WR’s? Serious question, because I haven’t seen them this year. I just remember what they had last year.
I'd say both teams are around the same. The 16 team having a slight edge.

Crestview goes all the way and wins 6A.

I keep hearing with destin high potentially being built which will pull talent away from Niceville and FWB
do you think the panhandle long era of dominance and window to win state in high classifications might be closing?
With a new Destin high that might get built? Yea, it'll draw some of the students away (referendum will have to be voted on to see if funds can be acquired). Niceville will continue to stay dominant, but to state is a long road.

well they put up a fight against Niceville for a bit but program appears to be in decline atm
Rivals always seem to ha, especially if Fort Walton can put 45 points up which is really shocking considering Niceville holds Fort Walton to 20 points or less every season.
As for Choctaw, it's crazy. They were doing really well and had some awesome players the last couple of years with that run to state before Armwood stopped em. Now a days, dwindling enrollment/lack of talent must be hurting.
-
Maybe they're discouraged? I can only speculate.

Miami is gonna score it looks like.

Jeez. FSU can't get a break. Hopefully Patrick isn't injured he got up though.

Fort Walton beach high and Niceville

Starting a new thread because the old one is locked.
Within a week of my original post, the school board confirmed there will be a referendum in the ballots to vote on a sales-tax increase. If it passes, a portion of the tax will go towards funding the new high school. May 2018 is when the spring ballots come out. And by 2019, if the referendum passes, then construction will be set to start on the Destin High school.

Florida State, the team that should have been, but is not.

Walmart, Target here are out of bottled water. Escambia, Okaloosa are out of water at bigger establishments. My dad had cases left at Office Depot.
Edit: Walmart keeps getting pallets of water and then they're all gone by 30 minutes as lines of people wait for bottled water.

The cone of uncertainty is big, but it all depends on how the weather patterns play out. The Great Plains and Great Lakes/Canadian pressure systems will either turn Irma north to hit south Florida, keys area into Miami-Dade county. Or it may stay on course and continue westward into the gulf. High pressure systems are what hurricanes like to follow, however there is a low pressure wave that will hit the hurricane either this weekend or Monday. The question then becomes where will that low pressure system hit? The gulf? The keys? That will steer Irma north.

Crazy, lots of people coming out to Niceville though their people have always been passionate!
I need to get to one of the games this season.

Doesn't niceville usually build mostly on in house talent?
Yea they do. Some of the top talent at other schools transfer over if the student wants to make that choice, but like I said, haven't seen anything for this season.

Alabama.

Rocky IV no doubt, he had to go through and take on Drago also at the time of the Cold War. Also the soundtrack, Vince DiCola's "War", and Hearts on Fire by John Cafferty
Half-cent sales tax referendum rescinded. (Destin High update)

Well folks, the School District has pulled the proposed half cent sales tax referendum that was supposed to appear on ballots in the spring of 2018. There's lots of investigations with teachers and the district going on now, so I think it was the right choice.
