3 good teams? Half of our schedule is playoff teams from last season....unfortunately due to a lack of a home stadium we are limited on funds which makes long distance travel difficult. For what it's worth I think he's done a pretty good job of getting seen with the teams we have played.

Week 11 @ DeltonaWe had to eliminate some of the lesser teams and bolster up the schedule some. Should be interesting to see how this all shakes out with the new points system in place. Only been to DP once to and that was when I was at DeLand, tough place to play!!! Since we don't have a stadium to play in our home games are limited. First four games are gonna make us or break us!!!!

If I'm not mistaken his dad is a coach at University. Did he go too ?
It's his Uncle who coaches with us and no he's still here also. Nobody has left!!!

Hey new to chat but not new to forum had to ask about Lingard heard he transferred to Seminole?
Rumor mills flying around every year with him. He was at track practice at OC University yesterday so unless he transferred sometime overnight he's still with us.

WTF happened here. He transferred from Lake Mary to range City University with some major D1 offers and ends up signing with NAIA Warner. I also saw Lawrence Coleman didn't sign as well. He was no doubt a Division 1A or 1AA talent.
Mickens did have D1 offers however due to issues with past school classes and test scores he was not able to sign on those. He decided on Warner due to closeness of home, the school having his major and wanting to play immediately. Not every kid has to go D1, he's a great kid who had an amazing season with us, can't we be happy that he's going to college?? As for LJ he's still doing his visits and will sign shortly...he also just received an FCS offer last night. Since your so concerned with our guys you should know that Cody Collins signed his LOI last night for West Florida. When the dust settles we will have roughly 6-7 players signing into college.

Game in Georgia is off, however we are now scheduled to play @Dr. Phillips week 1. Looking forward to that one!! Should be a good match up, even though DP graduated a lot this year I'm sure they have kids waiting their turn. Our offense lots some but should be very good still, defense took a hit but we have kids to fill in...next man up mentality!!!

What I'm hearing from the other forum is that ESPN wanted a "top QB battle" so it fell through. Also Miami Northwestern and DP is off. Might be University vs DrP week 1. My long shot guess is MNW might be the team playing Cartersville, but who knows. They don't really have a top tier QB either.
Well our QB isn't ranked on any sites however he did just go to the Army All American Combine and straight killed it!! Threw one bad pass all day and one that should have been caught. Like I said it's ESPN's call, I just know they want us to play because they wanna showcase Lorenzo. #2 RB 2018 and #6 overall, 2018 Army All American, has already committed to play in the game.

You can check it out if you'd like. I was told it's between a few schools however the one with the QB is the front runner. ESPN is doing the match up not us. And yes I am referring to Orange City University.

I do believe that is the school. Like I said it's not 100% firm but all things are looking good for it to happen. Should be a good challenge for us, however it will be week 1 so I'm sure we will have some kinks to work out.

If I knew i would have posted it. I was told it may be a team that has the #1 overall player for 2018 at QB. Wasn't told a school name.

Found out yesterday that the Osceola game has been cancelled. We are 80-90% sure of playing in a ESPN game during week 1 against a Georgia team. Deltona is now week 11. Really hope the ESPN game happens it's a lot of fun doing those, was at DeLand with the last one. Out of state games can be tricky though due to budget.

Pettis can get kids to run through brick walls for him. I've seen it when we coached together at DeLand. So down or not those kids will fight every second of the game!! He's a great coach!!

Not that I know of, Deltona is usually our first game of the season. Can't cancel Sanford or Brantley as they are district games. I don't see the point in playing Deltona though we haven't EVER lost to them and with the new playoff system it does nothing for us getting points by beating them. I'd rather play Mainland honestly. We're trying to schedule 2016 playoff teams to get the extra points for all our non district games.

Well we shall see how good we are next year as we have a brutal 4 week run from week 2 @ Sebastian River, week 3 Kissimmee Osceola, week 4 Sanford Seminole and week 5 Lake Brantley. Personally I love the challenge and can't wait to hit the field. We got some payback for Brantley, never should have lost to them this year.

That is good to hear. Hopefully 2017 wont be a district repeat scenario for UOC but at least next year the playoffs will structured different. UOC had a great season with a very potent offense. Constructive criticism speaking... I think overall the UOC Defense was the area that could have been a little stronger. Just out of curiosity did UOC have a 7 or 8 game road stretch this year? What the hell? How did that happen?
Yeah defense was our weak spot as we graduated most from this side the year before. All of my DB's were first year guys and one was a third string OLB last year. Technically we play every game on the road, our "home" games are played at other schools. It's tough because we have to raise funds for any chance of a stadium at the school, but have to sell back our home games and pay the other school to rent the field. Vicious cycle cause we never get ahead!!! We have a park up the road with multiple baseball and soccer fields but the city won't add bleachers, scoreboard, press box or goal posts to convert a soccer field due to cost.

How is University Orange City looking for 2017?
You know I saw University Orange City does not have a game scheduled for this week. I don't know if they they have cleaned out their lockers yet but we just had a decent team here in Broward County have the final week open up for them. Western just had South Broward cancel on them due to a brawl the previous week. Western has only played 8 games this year and are looking for 1 more game to get ready for Deerfield Beach for the playoffs. I'm just brainstorming but I was thinking University Orange City would be a very good primer to get ready for the 8A playoffs if the logistics could ever work out....
Unfortunately, we have already released kids to other sports, collected equipment and shut it down for this year. We schedule that way so if we ever get in the playoffs we have a bye week to rest and get healthy. We play 10 straight and are pretty beat up by this time.

How is University Orange City looking for 2017?
We return quite a bit, my whole secondary including back ups were juniors. Still got Lingard. Our QB, Cody Braden, is probably the most under rated guy, kid can sling it!! However we lose 2 backs, 3 OL, 3 DL and all 4 LB's. If our back ups step up we can be scary good next year. We have some cats but they are mostly unproven. Some did get significant playing time in our last 3 games though, with all 3 being blow outs.

We got several talented backs and have been getting good plays with zone read last few games but defense has been our strongest assest in past month
How good their offense?
Honestly, they came out in pro set the first few series and tried to run. When that didn't work they went tre, trips open and empty. Didn't give him a lot of time to throw, had pressure on him a lot. Watch #11 and #14 at WR. #4 was supposed to be the better one but he had a quiet night. His absolute favorite target is #84, the TE. He'll throw to him whenever they really need something. We killed them with counter and trap!!

The Orange city team that just wrecked Lincoln not in the playoffs? Or am I thinking of a different one?
Yeah we are out, lost 2 district games. Had a major key injury versus Lake Brantley and our back up kid was not mentally prepared for that triple option so instead of having a fill guy for QB he was hitting dive. Not an excuse just merely letting you know what happened. Honestly if we could play both those teams again now it would be a different result. We had 3 games in 8 days to close the season and throttled Lake Mary 63-33, Oviedo 60-32 and Tallahassee Lincoln 56-20. Wish next years playoff rules were in affect cause I think we'd been a dangerous team!!!! Can't cry over it, gotta regroup for next year. Oh and btw, if y'all have a good running game you will give Lincoln fits, they had a hard time stopping the run against us.

Yes Orange City University is not in the playoffs. They lost two early district games to Seminole and Lake Brantley and were never ever to recover from it.
The only way we could recover from it was a Lake Brantley loss, check the stats we throttled teams after that game. I'd say we recovered nicely, however can't lose in district play and expect to get in. Finish 8-2 this year

Don't count us out in 8A-2 just yet, it's not set in stone yet. Things can happen which could help or hurt us. Right now it's beat Lake Mary on Friday and that's it!!!
