30 of the nation’s best college football kickers were identified this morning when the Lou Groza Award watch list for the upcoming season was released, including two athletes who call Florida home.
The Lou Groza Award, which has been presented annually since 1992, is awarded to the nation’s top place-kicker by the Palm Beach Sports Commission. The award is named after Lou Groza who was one of the nation’s premier place kickers for Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns.
Former Seabreeze and current Oakland Raider, Sebastian Janikowski is the only two-time and back-to-back winner of the Lou Groza award when he played at Florida State in 1998 and 1999.
