This past week, two of Florida’s top prospects committed to Michigan and Miami (FL) respectively. Those two prospects were East Lake LT Mason Cole and Miami Central RB Joseph Yearby. Watching their highlight film you understand why they are two of the hottest commodities in the state. This week, I am going to highlight five players who are already committed to play Division I football.

LT Mason Cole |  East Lake |  2014  |  6’5  |  275 |  Michigan | Watch Highlights
Cole, who just committed to Michigan this past Monday, has a number of tangibles that make him as coveted a prospect as he is. His ability to move his feet and keep his shoulders lined up with his opposing pass-rusher gives him an advantage. He uses his strength from then on. He is a quarterback’s best friend simply because he gives them plenty of time in the pocket. Brady Hoke and company landed a good one and Cole can be a centerpiece of the line up in Ann Arbor. One of the best Tackles in the country bar none.

RB Joseph Yearby | Miami Central | 2014 |  5’9 |  190  |  Miami (FL) | Watch Highlights
In college football, running backs are getting bigger and stronger, But Yearby is a back who doesn’t have to have major size for him to be effective. He is a fast kid that has good strength and that combo gives him the ability to evade most tacklers. If you paid any attention to Miami Central’s state championship run in 2012, you know that the Rockets have another Division I running back in their backfield by the name of Dalvin Cook. The funny thing is, Cook is as highly touted as Yearby. Yearby this past season ran for 1,448-yards and 20-touchdowns in possibly the most talented district in the state, 16-6A.

QB Alin Edouard  | Hialeah | 2014 | 6’3 | 185 | Miami (FL) | Watch Highlights
Talk about a kid who hasn’t had a lot of recognition but is easily one of the best quarterbacks in the state. Edouard, who popped up on the scene last summer in the 7-on-7 tournaments, had a major breakout season when he threw 926-yards and 9-touchdowns. Alin is also a guy who can evade the pass rush and make plays with his legs as he ran for 559-yards and 7-touchdowns. He makes the Hialeah Thoroughbreds one of the most fun teams to watch in Miami-Dade county. He recently committed in February shortly after the Hurricanes offered. Something most scouts, along with myself, like about Edouard is his strong arm. Most high school quarterbacks lose accuracy on the deep ball but that is one of Edouard’s strong suits. That along with his running ability is what separates him from the pack.

MLB Devin Purifoy | Pensacola Catholic | 6’3 | 235 | Florida State | Watch Highlights
Devin Purifoy is no doubt, one of the top linebackers in the state. Jimbo Fisher couldn’t be happier knowing he’ll have this talent in his front-seven for years to come. Purifoy does a good job of not getting caught up in the line. He has a good nose for the football and is an excellent tackler. This is a guy who can lead a team by his performance on the field. This is the type of player who makes the game of football so much fun to watch. Aggressive, smart, and athleticism are just some of Purifoy’s attributes which make him one of the best in Florida. Simply put, in 2013, Devin Purifoy will be dominant.

WR Ryshene Bronson | Dunbar | 6’4 | 185 | Florida | Watch Highlights
Wide receivers with height are such valuable weapons, especially in Division I college football. Ryshene Bronson posses that good trait as he stands tall at 6’4 and looks over most defensive backs. With tremendous leaping ability and soft hands Bronson has made his name known and committed to the University of Florida in June of 2012.  While he isn’t the fastest player in Florida he is speedy in his routes and just glides down the field. It would take an elite cornerback to match him step for step and try and cover him. 1-on-1’s forget about with Bronson. Wherever the quarterback puts it, Ryshene can go and get it. One of the best no doubt.
