WHO: Bishop Kenny (5A-3) at St. Augustine (6A-4)
WHEN: Wednesday, May 22, 7:00 PM
WHERE: Brumley Stadium, St. Augustine
WHY: For visiting Bishop Kenny, this will be the first snaps taken since the playoffs, when it went on its deepest run in school history. The Crusaders will return prolific quarterback John Wolford for his final season at helm. However, he is going to have to find a new target to hit this year as his favor target, Ahmad Fulwood, has graduated and moved on the University of Florida. With this game, it will provide a good solid test for the entire team and give us an idea if the Crusaders will be to hold up in what could be a challenging 8-team district this season.
For host St. Augustine, the will be looking to find ways to get stronger after being bounced the last two season in either the first or second rounds of the playoffs by Lake City Columbia. The Yellow Jackets must find ways to replace certain key talent including defensive back D.A. Williams, who was a disruptive force in the backfield the last few seasons. No matter how you look at the Yellow Jackets, head coach Joey Wiles always finds a way for them to be competitive with the talent they do have available. Overall, do not count anything out for them when it comes to being competitive on the field.
