District projections for Class 6A – Region IV for the 2015 season.
District 6A-13
1. Mainland
2. Seabreeze
3. Deltona
4. New Smyrna Beach
5. Pine Ridge
6. Matanzas
Comment: The Daytona-area district in Class 6A shifts over to Region IV and will make things very interesting to say the least. Mainland is the best team in the district and it is not even close. There is a good change that teams like Seabreeze, Deltona and New Smyrna Beach will fight for the runner-up spot while Pine Ridge could potentially play dark horse. Matanzas which joins the district this season could find it to be an uphill battle in contending with the district.
District 6A-14
1. Heritage
2. Sebastian River
3. Jensen Beach
4. Bayside
5. Eau Gallie
6. Okeechobee
Comment: It could be a three-team race for the playoff spots in this district with Heritage leading the way as the top team in the district. Sebastian River has made strides the last two seasons under Kevin Pettis and is our pick to get the second playoff spots, but Jensen Beach would like to create some havoc here for the district and has been known to do it. Bayside, which is going on their third head coach in three years, along with Eau Gallie and Okeechobee will have to figure out how they can upset the top-tier of the district.
District 6A-15
1. Dillard
2. Boynton Beach
3. Boyd Anderson
4. Northeast (Oakland Park)
Comment: The district has shrunk even further this year as Hallandale, Coconut Creek and Stranahan have all gone down to Class 5A. The team that looks to be the leader of the district is Dillard, but we won’t totally eliminate Boynton Beach from being a team that can possibly be a district champion as well. Boyd Anderson and Northeast are rebuilding programs, so the playoff might not be a thought at this point.
District 6A-16
1. Miami Central
2. Miami Carol City
3. Miami Norland
4. Miami Northwestern
5. Hialeah-Miami Lakes
Comment: Here is a district where one team will dominate, while the other look to fight it out for a runner-up spot. Miami Central is one again locked and loaded as a team and will not be able to be stopped this season. Miami Carol City, Miami Norland and Miami Nothwestern will all battle it out for the runner-up spot and a three-way tiebreaker would not be surprising once again. Hialeah-Miami Lakes, which drops in from Class 7A, will find it a struggle to compete within the district.
