Here are FloridaHSFootball.com’s Class 2A Rankings after Week 2. Ranking, team name, record and previous rank included for each team.
Below the Top 5 are the regional rankings for Class 2A, showing you how teams are ranked in each of the four designated FHSAA regions.
Class 2A Top 5
1. University Christian, 2-0, 1
Week 2: Defeated Arlington Country Day, 75-0
This Week: vs. Trinity Christian (Jacksonville)
Comment: University Christian has not given up one single point yet in their first two games of the season. They starting to look more like a state championship caliber team as each week goes on, but will face tall task against rival Trinity Christian this week.
2. Northside Christian, 2-0, 3
Week 2: Defeated Clearwater Calvay Christian, 28-6
This Week: vs. Victory Christian
Comment: Northside Christian might just be the best team in District 2A-6 after Indian Rocks has gotten off to a rocky start to the season. They will face defending 2A State Champion Victory Christian this week and a win could set the tone for the future weeks ahead.
3. Glades Day, 1-1, 5
Week 2: Defeated Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy, 44-7
This Week: at Moore Haven
Comment: Bounced back from the loss against Okeechobee last week and steam rolled Somerset Academy. Still a team that should be able to make a deep playoff run this season.
4. North Florida Christian, 2-1, NR
Week 2: Defeated Valwood, Ga., 42-6
This Week: vs. Chiles
Comment: After a slow 1-1 start to the 2015 season that included a blowout loss and a 1-point win, the Eagles made a statement by blowing out a previously undefeated Valwood team at home and reenter the rankings after being out of them for a week.
5. Carrollwood Day, 2-0, NR
Week 2: Defeated Seffner Christian, 37-21
This Week: at Foundation Academy
Comment: Moving in Carrollwood Day might raise some eyebrows for some, but looking at the Class 2A landscape, it makes a lot of sense after knocking off Admiral Farragut Week 1 and then clinching a solid district victory against Seffner Christian. Patriots look better than initially thought.
Dropped out: No. 2 Victory Christian; No. 4 Indian Rocks Christian
