Things in Class 5A are seemingly wide open this season as who will make it to the Drive To December Championships in December.

Some of that picture could become a little clearer this week as we take a look at the best district games in Class 5A for Week 4.

DISTRICT 5A-1
Arnold (1-2, 0-0) vs. Bay (1-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
This could be the best chance for Arnold to make a statement in the district by getting a knock off a win against Bay, but Bay will likely have something to say about that thought.

West Florida (1-2, 0-0) vs. Mosley (1-2, 0-0)
Skinny:
The winner will get a share of the district lead and both teams have been known to be competitive with each other in most years. However, West Florida could still have an edge here.

DISTRICT 5A-4
Westside (1-1, 0-0) at Bishop Kenny (2-1, 0-0)
Skinny:
A close game could be at stake here between these two programs, but the question is who really wants it more? We are about to find out on Friday night.

DISTRICT 5A-5
Menendez (1-2, 0-0) at Baker County (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
This could be a highly interesting game as the Wildcats are off to a hot start and would like to get some revenge on Menendez who kept them out of the playoffs last season.

Orange Park (2-0, 0-0) at Clay (2-1, 0-0)
Skinny:
Orange Park is on a hot start, but Clay is a different team when it comes to its district foes and that could be a difference maker right there in this matchup.

DISTRICT 5A-7
Brooksville Central (1-1, 0-0) at Nature Coast (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
Central is expected to be in the hunt for a playoff spot this season this would be a good game to make a statement in, but Nature Coast, however, looks like they might have skipped a beat yet.

Hernando (1-1, 0-0) at Lecanto (1-1, 0-0)
Skinny:
This game could easily place one of these two teams as co- leader’s of the driver’s seat in the district and each one has its own strengths and qualities to be able to win this game.

DISTRICT 5A-8
Hudson (1-0, 0-0) at Anclote (1-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
Here comes an early battle between two teams likely to be in the playoff hunt from District 8. Winner gets an early lead in the driver’s seat, but the loser will still be alive in the hunt.

Ridgewood (1-1, 0-0) at Wesley Chapel (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
Wesley Chapel has thrown a few surprises at everyone and could be the emerging dark horse of the district. No matter what, expect a solid battle between these two emerging teams.

DISTRICT 5A-10
Jefferson (1-1, 0-0) at Jesuit (2-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
An early district matchup could likely be the district championship given both teams are favorites to emerge out of the district once again this season.

DISTRICT 5A-12
Dunbar (3-0, 0-0) at Lely (2-1, 0-0)
Skinny:
Dunbar is the district favorite this season, but Lely has been on a revenge tour and so far things are looking up for the Trojans. That could be a good thing for fans to see a great matchup against the Tigers.

Mariner (2-1, 0-0) at Cypress Lake (2-1, 0-0)
Skinny:
This game should be a great showdown between two teams that are looking to make a statement that are suppose to be rebuilding.

DISTRICT 5A-16
Miami Jackson (1-1, 0-0) at Cardinal Gibbons (3-0, 0-0)
Skinny:
Once thought that both teams might not be in the mix for the district’s two playoff spots both Jackson and Cardinal Gibbons have shown otherwise. This one could go down as a classic given everything that has gone on.
