NO. 8 DR. PHILLIPS (ORLANDO) AT LEE COUNTY, GA.

When: Saturday, 11:00 a.m.

Where: Lee County High Stadium, Leesburg, Ga.

Dr. Phillips Outlook: The defending Class 8A state champion makes the trip across the state line in what will be a battle of state champions. Last week the Panthers fell to Osceola (Kissimmee) by a score of 21-3 in the kickoff classic, according to the Orlando Sentinel. which turned into a stunning statement, but some say it might have been this way not to show a full hand to Lee County for this week. Key players to watch for include senior OLB/SS Jaquarri Powell, senior OLB/SS Japrerri Powell, sophomore QB Canaan Mobley who takes over that position from BeSean McCoy who graduated as well as Stephen Dix at MLB. It will be most important to note that Dr. Phillips is going to rely more on defense here early on than the offense to win games.

Lee County Outlook: Lee County is the defending GHSA Class AAAAAA state champions in Georgia and won their season opener last week by scoring 40 unanswered points in the first half, according to Georgia High School Football Daily, that resulted in a final of 47-6 over Dougherty. Lee County held Dougherty to minus-70 yards of total offense and with Dr. Phillips young offense this is something they are looking to key in on. Dijarious Oliver, Elvin Mallory, Eric Price, Anthony Harvey, Dangelo Carter and more are part of a heavy rotation on the defensive line for the host Trojans.
