GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Nine weeks of football is complete and the FHSAA has updated the playoff point averages for all teams in all classifications.
As such with this latest update, the playoff picture is starting to become much clearer with just two weeks of games left.
In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.
For Class 2A, you will find a breakdown of point averages for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.
REGION 1

University Christian | 6-3 | 38.89 |
Aucilla Christian | 7-1 | 38.50 |
Munroe Day | 4-4 | 35.50 |
Rocky Bayou Christian | 3-5 | 33.50 |
FAMU DRS | 2-4 | 32.83 |
Eagle’s View | 2-5 | 32.29 |
North Florida Educational | 0-8 | 30.88 |
St. John Paul II (Tallahassee) | 0-7 | 28.29 |
PROJECTED SEEDS
No. 1 North Florida Christian
No. 2 Maclay*
No. 3 University Christian
No. 4 Aucilla Christian
No. 5 Munroe Day
No. 6 Rocky Bayou Christian
*TIEBREAKER: Maclay would win the tiebreaker over University Christian with more CAT 1 wins over University Christian
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 North Florida Christian, No. 2 Maclay
No. 5 Munroe Day at No. 4 Aucilla Christian
No. 6 Rocky Bayou Christian at No. 3 University Christian
QUICK THOUGHTS: The biggest changes here this week is Maclay, which remains undefeated, would get the No. 2 seed in a tiebreaker mentioned above. However, University Christian still has Clay left on the schedule which could range between a Category 3 or 4 team that could boost the Christians back up to the No. 2 seed. Another change is Eagle’s View fell out of the top six after dropping another game with Rocky Bayou Christian looking to possibly get the No. 6 seed as of right now.
REGION 2
Team | Record | Avg |
Victory Christian | 7-1 | 38.75 |
Foundation Academy | 6-2 | 37.13 |
Zephyrhills Christian | 6-2 | 36.75 |
Trinity Christian (Deltona) | 6-2 | 34.75 |
Oak Hall | 5-3 | 34.75 |
St. Francis Catholic | 4-4 | 34.75 |
Kingdom Prep | 1-6 | 30.57 |
Halifax Academy | 5-3 | 30.00 |
Cornerstone Charter | 3-6 | 29.22 |
Merritt Island Christian | 2-5 | 29.14 |
Warner Christian | 0-7 | 28.00 |
PROJECTED SEEDS
No. 1 Victory Christian
No. 2 Foundation Academy
No. 3 Zephyrhills Christian
No. 4 Trinity Christian (Deltona)*
No. 5 Oak Hall*
No. 6 St. Francis Catholic*
*TIEBREAKERS: Trinity Christian and Oak Hall each have only one CAT 3 win while St. Francis Catholic has no CAT 3 wins, the No. 4 and No. 5 seed would have to be determined by coin flip to break this tie with No. 6 automatically going to St. Francis Catholic in this situation.
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 Victory Christian, No. 2 Foundation Academy
No. 5 Oak Hall at No. 4 Trinity Christian (Deltona)
No. 6 St. Francis Catholic at No. 3 Zephyrhills Christian
QUICK THOUGHTS: Minus the issue with the tiebreaker involving seeds No. 4 through No. 6, there is not much change in the region here with regards to the top six teams and it is likely to remain this way until the final bracket is revealed in less than two weeks as Halifax Academy would need major help to get in position to possibly snag the No. 6 seed away.
REGION 3
Team | Record | Avg |
Admiral Farragut | 6-1 | 38.43 |
Seffner Christian | 8-0 | 37.63 |
Carrollwood Day | 4-4 | 35.88 |
Evangelical Christian | 4-4 | 35.75 |
Cambridge Christian | 3-6 | 35.00 |
Indian Rocks Christian | 2-7 | 32.11 |
Southwest Florida Christian | 2-6 | 32.00 |
Northside Christian | 2-6 | 31.75 |
Keswick Christian | 4-4 | 29.75 |
PROJECTED SEEDS
No. 1 Admiral Farragut
No. 2 Seffner Christian
No. 3 Carrollwood Day
No. 4 Evangelical Christian
No. 5 Cambridge Christian
No. 6 Indian Rocks Christian
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 Admiral Farragut, No. 2 Seffner Christian
No. 5 Cambridge Christian at No. 4 Evangelical Christian
No. 6 Indian Rocks Christian at No. 3 Carrollwood Day
QUICK THOUGHTS: With Northside Christian disqualified for this season only after an appeal to the FHSAA, they fall out of the projected teams to make it in. While the FHSAA won’t be listing their average anymore due to this, we will list here just to show where they would stand regardless. Seffner Christian and Carrollwood Day flip seeds here this week with Evangelical Christian holding steady with things. Southwest Florida Christian falls out with Cambridge Christian and Indian Rocks Christian sliding up to possibly be in play for the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds.
REGION 4
Team | Record | Avg |
Miami Christian | 6-0 | 39.17 |
Glades Day | 4-4 | 38.88 |
St. John Neumann | 6-1 | 38.29 |
Moore Haven | 6-1 | 38.29 |
Champagnat | 4-4 | 37.50 |
First Baptist (Naples) | 3-4 | 35.14 |
Community School (Naples) | 3-5 | 31.88 |
Village Academy | 0-8 | 28.50 |
Marco Island Academy | 0-6 | 24.33 |
PROJECTED SEEDS
No. 1 Miami Christian
No. 2 Glades Day
No. 3 St. John Neumann*
No. 4 Moore Haven
No. 5 Champagnat
No. 6 First Baptist (Naples)
*TIEBREAKER: St. John Neumann wins the tiebreaker over Moore Haven for the No. 3 seed with a Head to Head win.
PROJECTED REGIONAL QUARTERFINAL PAIRINGS
BYES: No. 1 Miami Christian, No. 2 Glades Day
No. 5 Champagnat at No. 4 Moore Haven
No. 6 First Baptist (Naples) at No. 3 St. John Neumann
QUICK THOUGHTS: Some shifts happened again in this region with Miami Christian moving back up to the No. 1 seed after some corrections were made to their schedule with Glades Day slipping down to the No. 2 seed. St. John Neumann takes the No. 3 seed while Moore Haven falls from the No. 2 seed to the No. 4 seed. After that no changes with the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds. I don’t expect much change from this initial six teams listed being in the playoffs minus the final seeding order
