GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Ten weeks of football is in the books and the FHSAA has updated the playoff point averages for all teams in all classifications for the final time this season leading to Sunday’s bracket reveal.
As such with this latest update, the playoff picture is starting to become much clearer, but there are still areas where things can drastically change based upon this week’s final regular season games.
In Classes 5A-8A, district record was taken into consideration except on certain exceptions which are noted.
For Class 7A, you will find a breakdown of point averages for each team in every region and a projected seeding (including tiebreakers) based upon the guidelines as published by the FHSAA (click here to view), as well as quick thoughts about each region.
NOTE: Teams in RED have clinched their district championship

QUICK THOUGHTS: This region gets a shakeup this week with Hagerty taking District 7A-4 away from Edgewater forcing Edgewater into a wildcard spot. District 7A-3’s three-way tie will be broken through points once this week’s games are played. With all the movement, Bartram Trail is still on the outside looking despite last week’s upset over Buchholz and risks missing the playoffs just a year after reaching the Class 7A state championship game in Orlando.

QUICK THOUGHTS: All the district champions are locked in and there is not a change in seeding this week except for St. Petersburg replacing Palmetto at the No. 8 seed. With all the district champions in this region locked in, it will remain to be seen how the wildcards shake out especially with the No. 7 and No. 8 seeds given that Palmetto, Countryside and East Lake are still in the hunt.

QUICK THOUGHTS: No changes this week the first five seeds, but seeds No. 6 through No. 8 all change up with 7A-16 teams taking seeds No. 6 through No. 8. However, Palm Beach Lakes and Forest Hill are both still in the hunt for a playoff seed, so those seeds are the most vulnerable here in the final week with Fort Lauderdale almost being a for sure lock for a wildcard spot.
