Standout Performances from the regional semifinals

We have been through two weeks of the FHSAA Football State Series Playoffs and once again a ton of athletes stood out helping their teams win out or played well in some very tough games.

Here is a look at some standout performances from the Regional Semifinals of the FHSAA State Series Playoffs.

CLASS 8A

WR/DB Mike Jackson, Miami Palmetto – 5 rec, 116 receiving yards, 3 TDs, 4 carries, 21 yards rushing; 2 INTs on defense, 1 returned for TD

WR/RB Markel King, Palm Beach Central – 300 all-purpose yards, 3 TDs.

RB Keyondray Jones, Apopka – 124 yards rushing, 2 TDs

DE George Phillip, Venice – 9 total tackles, 2 TFL

WR/DB Keyon Sears, Venice – 30-yard TD reception; 1 FR for TD

K Luis Palenzuela, Columbus – 3-of-3 PATs; 2-of-2 FG, long of 29

QB Fernando Mendoza, Columbus – 16-of-18 passing, 141 yards, 1 TD

RB Jaylon Glover, Lake Gibson – 227 yards rushing, 2 TDs

QB Marcus Stokes, Nease – 20-of-37 passing, 233 yards, 1 TD; 7 carries, 50 yards rushing, 1 TD
