Season Outlook: Over the last few years, the Jones Tigers have made significant strides to be one of the top teams in the Sunshine State with a state runner-up finish in 2019 and a state semifinal appearance last year, falling just short in overtime to eventual state runner-up Pensacola Pine Forest. The Tigers are returning 11 of 22 starters and 40 overall varsity players which is a great number for a team looking to contend for the Class 3M state championship in 2022. The biggest issue for the Tigers is replacing some skill players that graduated like wide receiver A’Ceon Cobb and quarterback Julian Calvez, both who were key pieces to the deep playoff run last year. Overall, the Tigers have a solid core of player that can get them deep into the playoffs again, but it will come with some significant competition in order to get to the state championship game.
