Congratulations to Evan Tempro of Westminster Academy for being voted the scoutSMART Florida Player of the Week for October 31- November 6!
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound junior linebacker and wide receiver have been a player to watch this fall. He has 370 receiving yards, 39 tackles, and 4.5 sacks this season and has truly been unstoppable. In Lion’s game against Pine Crest on October 21, 2022, Tempro put up impressive stats with 5 catches for 72 yards, a 79-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, and 4 tackles with 1 TFL.
Throughout the season, Tempro has been a playmaker. He was awarded on October 7th, as the Maxpreps Defensive player of the game against Bishop Snyder where he had 10 tackles, 4.5 TFL, and 1 sack and he also led the team with 97 receiving yards, a TD, and a 2 pt conversion. On October 14th, Tempro was recognized again as the MaxPreps Overall Player of the Game with 8 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks and 3 catches for 61 yards.
Tempro is a dynamic player who is effective on both sides of the ball. He is a dependable, consistent, and competitive asset for Westminster Academy’s football program. The team’s season came to a close on Friday, October 28, 2022, as the Lions took their second loss of the season to Jupiter Christian in the first round of the SSAC State Championship Tournament.
