When: 7 p.m. Thursday

Where: The Lion’s Den, Hollywood

Broadcast/streaming info: NFHS Network

Records: Miami Norland, 3-0; Chaminade-Madonna, 2-2

Rankings: Miami Norland No. 4 Florida Top 25, No. 1 Class 4A; Chaminade-Madonna No. 12 Florida Top 25, No. 2 Class 1A

What To Know: Miami Norland is coming off a 21-17 victory over Miami Northwestern in Week 4 … Chaminade-Madonna picked up their second straight win of the season with a 56-19 victory over district foe Miami Edison … The visiting Vikings have been averaging 28 points a game … For the host Lions, they are scoring at least 30 points per game despite their 2-2 record, and coming against some of the toughest competition around the nation … Currently, Norland has no statistics recorded in MaxPreps but they are giving up just nine points in their three games so far … For Chaminade-Madonna keep an eye on Preston Wright who has broken out as a star player to watch who came to the Lions after starting his prep career at Trinity Catholic (Ocala) … Wright has thrown 46-of-71 passes for 796 yards and nine touchdowns in the three games he has played in … Derrek Cooper has emerged as the top running back for the Lions with 337 yards rushing on 59 touches and has scored six times through four games … Jasen Lopez has been the Lions’ top receiver with 557 yards receiving on 30 receptions, but has only scored twice among those 32 receptions … Defensively defensive back Camari Hall, and cornerback Chris Ewald lead the team teams in tackles with 27 each while the defense collectively has 10.5 sacks through four games … What might be the most striking thing about the Lions’ defense through four games? The lack of interceptions as none have been recorded as of yet.

Josh’s Pick: While the Vikings are ranked higher in the Florida Top 25 than the Lions, the thing to keep in mind is Chaminade’s early fall in the rankings was due to the loss to Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach) in Week 2. Now in Week 5, the Lions have looked strong and especially over the last two weeks. With that said, and the fact this is a home game, I think Chaminade-Madonna will take the victory here. CHAMINADE-MADONNA OVER MIAMI NORLAND
