Cliff Harrell has been named the new head football coach at Chiefland, replacing Adam Gore, per a post on Chiefland Football’s X account on Wednesday afternoon.
This will be Harrell’s second head coaching job having served as the head coach at Santa Fe (Alachua) for two seasons in 2016-2017 and 2017, where he compiled a 5-15 record as the Raiders’ head man.
Gore had a long and successful history with the Indians in which he has had three separate stints as head coach of the program (2017-2018, 2021, and 2023).
His first stint saw him lead the team to a 16-7 record, including a 10-2 finish in 2018, where the Indians advanced to the regional finals. Gore returned to Chiefland for a second time in 2021 and led the Indians to an 11-2 finish and a trip to the state semifinals. In 2024, he returned to Chiefland for a third time, replacing James Corbin, who stepped down after two seasons.
