Here are FloridaHSFootball.com’s Class 4A Rankings after Week 3. Ranking, team name, record and previous rank included for each team.
Below the Top 10 are the regional rankings for Class 4A, showing you how teams are ranked in each of the four designated FHSAA regions.
Class 4A Top 5
1. Cocoa, 2-1, 1
Week 3: Lost to IMG Academy, 49-7
This Week: at Lake Highland Prep
Comment: It was a tough decision to make to leave Cocoa at No. 1, but how many teams in this state raised their hand, willing to put IMG Academy on the schedule given their differences? Three and Cocoa is one of those three teams. Mismatch? Yes, but outside of that, Cocoa knows how to play against bigger competition and win when things are done right. In that case we leave them here and they get ready for district play this week against Lake Highland Prep.
2. Bolles, 3-0, 2
Week 3: Defeated Lakewood, 56-0
This Week: vs. Andrew Jackson
Comment: What turned out to be a non-competitive game against Lakewood, the Bulldogs claimed their first shutout win of the season. Bolles will host Andrew Jackson to open district play this week and should easily roll this week.
3. Raines, 3-0, 5
Week 3: Defeated Ed White 49-10
This Week: at Fernandina Beach
Comment: The Vikings have only given up 10 points so far in their first three games after blowing through Ed White last week. This week a trip to Fernandina Beach could provide a chance for Raines to secure their third shutout in four games.
4. Clewiston, 2-1, 4
Week 3: Lost to Fort Pierce Central, 34-27
This Week: Idle
Comment: Clewiston showed it could compete against a Class 8A team very well and that could be very well the motivation factor that drive Clewiston deep into the playoffs this year. Will take this week off before traveling to Pahokee next week.
5. South Sumter, 3-0, NR
Week 3; Defeated Hernando, 47-0
This Week: at Umatilla
Comment: The Raiders are undefeated right now and the concerns surrounding a young offensive line seem to have faded for now. Will travel to Umatilla to open up district play this week.
Dropped Out: No. 3 Booker T. Washington
