Mariner High School in Cape Coral is now on the search its next head coach after Chris Siner stepped down on Tuesday, the Fort Myers News-Press reported earlier today.
Siner took over the Tritons in 2010 in which he inherited a team in a bit of disarray, the report indicated.
Siner is a 1994 graduated of Mariner and the reasoning cited for stepping down was the distance between the school and his home in Immokalee. He also stated to the News-Press that he wanted to spend more time with his family.
An ad for the position has been up since mid-February and over 90 applications have already been received, however no timetable has has been set on a new hire.
Siner leaves the school with a 9-21 overall record as a head coach.
