Depends on who that outsider is. I think they could have a lot of success next year and even win another state title. However, I doubt they will be in contention for a national title...although a W over STA could change that. We'll see though another crazy offseason in south florida

He is right. In Miami if you are not winning they will not show up plain and simple. Also slick I think BTW/Central draws more than 10K to Traz Powell I'd say north of 15K most years at least recently. However, if you are not winning and you're in SFLA they'll stay at home or go out on the town because there is a lot to do down there why would you spend your time watching a team that is 0-9 when you can go enjoy the night?

Columbia has talent...just haven't gotten over the top yet. Great program with an amazing fan base no doubt!

I have to say BTW does not actively recruit. I know that area pretty well despite being a supporter of Aquinas I always enjoyed heading south to watch the Miami inner city schools play because that was some of the best football in the country. Overtown is OVER FLOWING with talent. BTW doesn't have to recruit with the kind of kids they are getting from their own neighborhood. Do some schools recruit? Yes they do it will happen, however I don't think BTW does it intentionally. Some kids transfer in on their own because they want to win and get looks from major colleges and D1 colleges are basically setting up homes in Overtown with the talent that has come out of BTW over the last 5 years.

I agree Zoe. Sad because this team has enough talent to at least MAKE the ACC title game. Maybe they wouldn't beat an FSU or Clemson there but they can certainly get there. Coaching has cost them.

The 2016 class seems to be a huge home run for the program. However, a year out how many of these kids will actually be with the Canes come Feb 2016? Especially if Golden is let go, regardless of how bad of a coach we may think he is these kids are coming to play for him.

Yes that is another one. I believe they had a title in the late 90s...maybe 97? Other than that Bolles has stopped some good Raines teams in the playoffs including this year.

Well now I believe they will be in 1A with the new format so we'll see how they do in that. Some I have talked to think they will dominate but I am not so fast to agree because there is some great football played in 1A that no one knows about!

One HS in Miami that for the longest time was pretty damn good but never got to a state title game I believe was Jackson. Northwestern in the 90s ended their season several times in the playoffs. Madison County while having 2 state title 6yrs apart seemed like they were always playing for it all and coming up short so I believe they never truly got their due.

As someone in NC I am familiar with Spartanburg which is not too far from the NC/SC border. They won the SC 4A D1 state title over York this season. I am looking into what they have coming back, but I think they will be very strong next season. Should be an interesting barometer to see where each team is.

Maybe he can get some Miramar kids to the U like Ice and his son have been over there the last few years. Miami needs to lockdown Miramar HS and own it. Too much top level talent going to places like WVU, and FSU.

That is a great area! Have some family near there...I'd love to move there and coach if I was a coach haha. Good program too.

Regardless of class: Miramar, Cypress Bay, Plantation, South Plantation, Aquinas. That I would not mind truthfully.

St. Thomas' district is a joke. I would be upset even if all three teams were good, but Ely and Lauderdale are not any good!! Frustrating to me at least.

Truthfully I had a feeling something like this would happen within the next few years. Not sure Rocco is "pursuing other interest" as Smith said. Either way I am very interested to see if they just hire someone on the staff or go out across the country looking. National job, with a stable AD, tons of talent and support. Dream job truthfully.
