  1. See other thread. Thank you sir! Good to know. I can form a better opinion actually seeing teams for myself.
  2. Thanks STARaider! Btw, word I'm getting is your boys are gonna roll Osceola. "They" are saying stuff like y'all aren't unbeatable but it is not if you win but when......Sooo, you know that eternal glory you so rightfully deserve.....Lol

    4A South

Going North seems to have more geographic logic then being included in the south. It seems anyone on the east coast south of Daytona is considered South Florida. Whatever. And it would also seem logic has nothing to do with it sometimes. But do you even think you will stay 4A? I mean, it would seem there might be a lot of movement going on to hear some people tell it. What do you know about the schedule getting built up? I mean, what kind of opponents does it seem he is lining up? As far as being undefeated though, I beg to differ on that. Or at least offer a different viewpoint. I believe it is in a program's best interest to play up and take on some tough opponents to get battle tested. It is only through well planned challenges do you get better. And the good thing about it is that it has no real implications on your state championship run other than to give your kids experience facing an opponent that may be tougher than they would face during the playoff run when it counts. I have debated with some over that very notion of Coach Dorminey at Trinity Christian doing just that. By scheduling the likes of Buford, GA and IMG it only served to make our kids and program better. I saw some of the changes in the kids AND coaches after those battle "lessons." And neither game hurt us in any kind of meaningful standings in regards to our championship run.

I do not doubt Central's abilities one bit. But I have seen the Armwood monster up close and personal. They have been ingrained in me and our culture in Tampa just like Plant from there as well. However, where Plant is considered the rich kids from South Tampa that just wins with good athletes, heady players and coaches that know what they're doing and have the kids super prepared, Armwood is considered the big country boy bully that just smacks people around with huge players along the line of scrimmage, excellent athletes, and a super physical style of play. Did I mention they haven't lost a step when they're defensive guru left to become the head coach at Tampa Jesuit. In fact, they may have gotten better! Scary. I can't wait!
  5. I know we mentioned this on the other thread but are the games you can watch free after the fact or live? I will be checking it out when I get the chance, btw.
  6. Oh so you're saying just go to the NFHS' network and you should be able to sign up to see games? Free? That would be awesome if so
  7. What does either program have to gain from that? You may come up wither own opinions and answers to that question but that's the essential one you truly have to ask yourselves. National exposure for the program and kids? For what? To get the kids recruited to college? News flash: the programs are good enough that colleges already know to come take a look at the players. So THAT'S not it. Even the "lower-tier" players, if you could truly call them that, get looks from recruiters when they come to see the big boys. And believe me recruiters from various places talk. They are out on the road together all the time.

Wouldn't that be something if the greats all played each other. But Bolles won't play you guys.

Cat Scratch, first off I wanna repeat I am a Cocoa fan. In-laws are from around there. Cocoa, Merritt Island, Rockledge. Really like Wilkinson and his DC. Had an opportunity to speak with them and take some notes at a Nike Clinic a couple years back. Great guys. It is in part due to them I have run a 3-5 defense. Your guys are always right up there if not winning it all. Cocoa won't be back because they never went anywhere. I appreciate your insights sir. A reclass. year is always interesting. We'll see if you stay South or come North. By the way, Champagnat are a bunch of jerks. They cancelled on my guys, Trinity Christian, also. Threw all kinds of stuff out of whack. But the early bumps were all just learning steps on the way to the real goal of getting to the playoffs and making noise there!

    6A Playoffs

Ok so it looks like we got a helluva clash about to go down in O-town on Saturday at 1pm with Armwood, from my old neck of the woods in Tampa (Seffner) and Central from Miami. OOOOO boy this is gonna be a GREAT game. Mark my words!!!!
  11. Oh yeah. I got ya. You have to subscribe though I believe. How much is that? I know they were broadcasting the FHSAA football playoffs along with BHSN network. I'd actually be interested if they showed things during the season as well but not sure they do. I'll wait on some you to provide some info. I appreciate it sir.
  12. I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest this game resemble the Trinity Christian/AHD championship game. With an equal result. Why I say that is because the Kowboys run, run, and run some more with the occasional timely pass. Exactly the formula that can get you in trouble if the run D is stout and you start missing some throws when you need them. Just like what happened in our game. AHD still tried to pound the rock and nothing ever materialized. If STA can play D and force the Kowboys to become one dimensional than it's a long day for Osceola. And if Osceola gets behind and still doesn't have the ability to make plays in the aerial attack it will be a slow death. Just. Like. Our game! I'm gonna pull for your boys STARaider.
  13. Well I haven't seen AHP so it's hard for me to call it. BUT I have seen Godby. They have some kids that can play. As does any team at this point in the season. There is always talent in Leon county so I'm sure this will make for another great matchup. Shoot, if they look anything like you describe STARaider then I'd take Godby. Btw, STARaider how is it you are seeing all of this "film"? If you don't mind me asking.

Without a doubt. Say what you want about that school. Because I've heard it. I also have some knowledge about them and Trinity. But I digress. Lol Anyway, they have consistently been successful. There facilities look like a small college. They do a good job. That can't be argued. I know they beat BTW but that ONE TIME isn't good enough. Again. I'm just glad it was a good game and it would have been cool to have another champ in my new hometown. But they have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and I know they're not.
  15. I've seen Godby this season. They came over and played Trinity Christian earlier this season. We won 28-13 They looked solid but sometimes Trinity isn't a good measuring stick. We had a monster defense this season so there was no running around all over the place. But if memory serves me correct they were definitely a solid team. (As evidenced by where they are)

Would have LOVED to see this game. I hear and read it was a barnburner. And Bolles goes down to BTW, again! Ouch! Bolles just can't get over that hump. Big ups to BTW. Would've been good to have another one in Duval. Lol
  17. It was great meeting you Jerry. I enjoyed our conversations. Always great meeting people and talking about this great game of football we all love so much. You also expanded my knowledge of a few programs and for that I appreciate it. The game itself was a pretty staunch defensive battle for a while marked by punt after punt. It truly seemed as if it was going to go into the half all knotted at 0. That is until the game's first mistake by either side, which is always so crucial. Trinity was able to immediately take advantage of the ball hitting the AHD punt returner and subsequently recover the ball. It was a close play that could've been called a few ways since our cover guy was right on top of the AHD kid. That took us into the half with a little momentum. As Jerry so rightfully, and knowledgeably pointed out the AHD QB situation was a little off and they could never seem to hit the timely throws with ANY accuracy whatsoever. Trinity's run stuffing D was as advertised! AHD stayed disciplined in its run-first game plan but stubbornly stuck to its guns and kept coming up with nothing time and time again. Then when they needed a throw or two could not make it happen. AHD actually had good run game concepts but Trinity is just so disciplined in their assignments and so physically dominant they couldn't get anything going on the ground. Hey, you live by the sword and you die by it and that's what AHD did. The unstoppable force met the immovable object and got bludgeoned. After a few more timely plays by Trinity the game was far out of control for AHD as even a 14 point lead seemed insurmountable. Their lone score came in garbage time and with only one second in the game remaining. Not gonna lie, as a defensive coach....I want my shutouts! Lol. But it was a nice afternoon made all the better by good company and the gold medal! Back to back Champs! 5th title in the school's history. How 'bout them Conquerors!
  18. I guess you didn't get the humor. Well done for your guys. You're on the way! I'm headed up to O-town in a few to go watch our boys get their GLORY THEY SO RIGHTFULLY DESERVE!!! Lol! Quotes from the local paper: It was not that the Eagles (13-1) were bad. It was just that the Raiders (13-1) were so good. St. Thomas Aquinas had more speed, more size and more of most other good things. East Lake was willing to mix it up and the Eagles never quit. But they lacked depth, missed some tackles and simply wore down. With all those pluses on one side and the minuses on the other, the game quickly turned in the Raiders’ favor. “What can you say? Aquinas is great,†Jake Hudson said. “They’re big, fast, strong, skilled. They’ve got it all.â€

Hey jerry. Man you are descriptive! LOL. A guy with a shaved head wearing jeans. Hmm. Just joking sir. I don't know what I'm even wearing but I'm assuming Trinity blue. I'm a white guy with an African-American wife and we'll all be together with family. I'll most likely be the only white guy with the group so maybe that will help. LOL. I'm 5'10" and I have dark brown hair. We have a two year old also. Too bad your wife and son can't be there to enjoy it with you. You're more than welcome to sit with us and have folks to speak to. My nephew is on the D-Line for Trinity. He's #55 so we'll be cheering it up and hopefully have a lot to be cheering about. If you can find us stop on over.
  20. McElwain it is boys! It pains me to say this but Go Gators. I just want the best for my nephew there so I hope this dude gets it going in the right direction. I've heard Muschamp will land on his feet somewhere not too far away and possibly in the same conference.

    Class 3A Playoffs

All the "experts" right now seem to have AHD by a few points. That's perfect! I can assure you the locker room will be plenty motivated. And not because of what people say or think. It's a football game and they're keeping score. Anything they keep a score with you want to win. But it's also the CHAMPIONSHIP football game! You can't get up for this you're either in the wrong business or you don't have a pulse!

Absolutely!!!!! Don't know all of the details so if I say anything please understand it is not to offend. I am truly sorry for this young person, his family, his friends and community and anybody that knew him. Very senseless and cowardly thing to do. Sometimes this world can be a b*tch!

Tragedy only made worse by not finding the responsible party. Compounded by nothing making sense. But just because nothing really ever happens doesn't meant it can't. Obviously. But random mess happens all the time. Some person could've somehow felt scared by this big kid and pulled his weapon on him in an instant and over....Smdh
  25. Just WOW STARaider! Fired up much? Lolol! There is no doubt East Lake has a tough road ahead of them. They know that and so does everyone in the surrounding communities. But this is what makes Friday Night Lights so special either way! Little David is coming to play mighty Goliath and few give them any hope. in fact the local paper has a headline that reads East Lake takes a road trip few playoff teams survive You aren't the subject of that headline by accident. STA is good and they're home. Ruh roh Reorge! Eternal Glory? Rightfully Deserve? EL watched a movie and now *snap* believe in themselves? Wow. You aren't a homer.
