  1. Chaminade against plant? Probably Chaminade by 60
  2. Honestly what I wouldn't mind seeing is maybe finding a way to merge the metro classes into 3 metro classes with larger districts and maybe even have 3 districts per region and merge 1R into suburban and turn those 5 classes into 3 suburban classes that can do the same It would give us 3 metro classes and 3 rural/suburban classes and we could still use RPI for seeding and have top 2 in each district advance (6 teams between 3 districts in each region and then RPI can decide 2 wild cards for the region overall)
  3. Can you name 8 teams in the region that would win any of the games that they lost? Or had a winning record with that schedule? Again who's to say Treasure Coast didn't try to get some easier teams on the schedule only for teams to refuse? Why do you only attack Treasure Coast being forced to schedule too tough but never call out teams in their own area who won't play them despite being 8-2 or 9-1?
  4. Considering calpreps uses SOS they would have Treasure Coast in the top 8 of that region like MaxPreps which has a similar formula Though I think the FHSAA formula SIGNIFICANTLY devalued SOS to help reward the cowards who go 8-2,9-1,10-0 with NEGATIVE SOS then want to act like they would beat state powerhouses
  5. There were crappy teams making it before and if you do nothing to account for PUBLIC SCHOOLS WHO RECRUIT then you will still get massive blowouts at states
  6. You say it like EVERY team in Florida will play Treasure Coast or other top programs
  7. Again the issue at play here is the same at the college level and how people would use to try and say a 2 or 3 loss team from the SEC should be ranked over undefeated group of 5 teams If your supposed to get the BEST 8 teams that doesn't mean best 8 RECORDS It's funny how I see people apply this logic one way at high school level and the opposite at college level but if it's the BEST 8 then shouldn't they make it if you can't actually justify that there are 8 teams in that region who would beat them head to head (again same logic the CFP uses)
  8. Well this idea of best 32 has been brought up a few times However it never gets past the advisory board because of the complaints of statewide travel in round 1 and the FHSAA not willing to provide travel stipends to offset it But it is the idea that if you don't actually get the best 8 in each region how can you expect the playoffs to be competitive but best 8 is obviously subjective based on what criteria you use
  9. No different than any other year Switch to metro/suburban didn't suddenly mean bad teams from both didn't find a way to make it
  10. The faulty logic your trying to use here has one major inconsistently When would FAU regardless of schedule be SIGNIFICANTLY better than teams who are making playoffs in the same division (classification) as them The argument for Treasure Coast is record or not I have a hard time believing there are 8 teams in that region who would actually beat them head to head
  11. You missed the obvious point I was trying to make that you don't really value the concept of SOS because to you someone is automatically better if their record says so because nobody in Tampa EVER plays a schedule half as good as Treasure Coast played this year
  12. Most of the losses in their system also come early in the season when they are relying on past season results to create a start point That's why calpreps and MaxPreps have pathetically bad rankings in the preseason but it usually is solid by the end of the regular season
  13. It's possible at the NFL level to send all 4 teams in the division to the playoffs If 4 teams in one district are among the best 8 in the region why shouldn't they go?
  14. Are you forgetting the obvious elephant in the room The reason some teams can go get winnable games is because only powerhouses will SCHEDULE certain teams Outside of districts the FHSAA can't FORCE teams to play but maybe they should
  15. No surprise you have this idea since no Tampa team will ever play a schedule as tough as treasure coast Maybe we should have Treasure Coast play Plant and if Plant loses they are banned from playoffs for 5 years, if Treasure Coast wins they are in Btw the runner up system you loved so much had 1-9 teams getting in through crap districts so it's not like that system actually gave anything better even if this current ranking is trash compared to the RPI we had a year ago
  16. No a dumbass is someone who has to resort to lies to sound important Everything I said was the truth
  17. Oh I absolutely agree I still believe they changed more than they claimed and we have no way to double check I just say karma because Chiles has screwed Columbia over several times over the last few years so I'm glad if anyone is paying from this crap system it's them
  18. Maybe Chiles is getting robbed of a playoff spot but we will likely be robbed of the #2 seed because of Chiles going and refusing to sign the contract to play Columbia after your coaches initially agreed and it was the third time in the last 5 years that we have had to scramble for a game because Chiles would tell Columbia "oh we will play you all" then the minute the contract gets sent in "we gonna have to pass on playing" So way I see it this is karma for screwing teams over and you all deserve what's happening
  19. Maybe if some so called "big shot programs" wouldn't decline games this wouldn't be an issue and the current system rewards winning over trash teams more than the previous system so idk why your complaining Average teams who go undefeated over independents being given higher seeds over 8-2 or 7-3 teams with playing state powers each week Guess it will help the teams like Lake Wales or Pine Forest or Eau Gallie who play cupcakes all year then want to act like they great programs when they decline games with any team with a pulse that calls them
  20. Strength is showing the SOS (but I think the FHSAA has either altered it in some way or diminished it's value in the algorithm because it doesn't match the one off MaxPreps and the FHSAA "claimed" the only thing changed was taking out margin of victory but I don't believe that accounts for the results being done ) The overall rating is what will be used to determine playoff teams
  21. I saw Columbia lost like 1/10th a point in the overall rankings for beating a 1-8 team and dropped a whole point in SOS Escambia plays a team with the same record this week so likely they drop by a similar margin and more if other teams on their schedule take a loss while Columbia could benefit from teams earlier in the season winning this week What it shows is some things will cause small shifts but it will depend how close teams are heading into the week if they can get jumped/drop out
  22. I hope every one of these teams who scheduled like COWARDS and been chest thumbing on social media lately get "upset" by teams with a weaker record but a SIGNIFICANTLY better SOS just to prove to the clowns who think the overall record is the tell of a team look foolish
  23. It will be released Sunday at 11am live on FHSAA YouTube Florida HS Football and VSN will also have a breakdown bracket show starting at noon
  24. I think Martin County is very underrated but I get tired of seeing people trying to downplay Treasure Coast for their record when they just say "well they have lost 5 games they aren't that good" but think a team having more wins against subpar competition shows how great they are Vero wouldn't have done any better with the slate Treasure Coast has and as for the QB injury, last year Columbia by the time they played Madison had a WR playing at QB and even he got injured but nobody said "well Columbia is having injuries hurting them" they said "see Columbia is a garbage team and garbage program" but I guess only certain schools get a free pass for injuries
