The Riverview 5 Star cornerback is transferring to Venice for his senior year.
The 4 Star QB 6’4 220 4.0 GPA student athlete from IMG is transferring or already enrolled at Venice. Needed more playing time according to Peacock.

New Manatee coach working it but will take a little time to figure out the lay of the land but has made some inroads to the best youth teams.
-
Wow - that's a lot of transfers in a short period of time. Make sure they shake hands and get to know each other.

Its weird... Either he was in the drop program (which he is but thought he had 2 years left) or he felt the hammer about to drop or health... His team again is going to be good... Just weird timing IMO.
Recently heard from a reliable source it is a serious health issue. Prayers to him and his family.

What are your thoughts on the loss of Tyrone Collins ?
Can't replace someone of that caliber. Too bad for him and wish him the best. Next man up.

Hear a couple more may be coming from IMG. Braden River ought to play IMG in 19'. It will be like an intrasquad scrimmage.

New o-line coach (formerly IMG) doing a great job recruiting in short time there. Three studs from IMG transferred there in the last week. Solid lineman, linebacker and a big time QB prospect. The QB Bryson Lacero already has offers and was the projected starter at IMG in the 2018 season. He is 6'2 and weighs 215. Big time arm able to make all throws. Apples and oranges from previous IMG QB that transferred. In my opinion, Bryson will be the best QB in the area since Sandburg at Manatee. Not sure what they have around him but he will be a HUGE difference maker.

Good move. Can't compete with TC.

Hopefully they don't get anyone injured. IMG is going to steamroll theI m. I applaud Venice for stepping up but they lack speed to compete deep in the playoffs.
I think this will be a relatively close game. Unlike Weinke, Coach Wright never tries to embarrass another program.

Personally, I love the Texas HS rules. Prepares the kids for the college game.

Cut blocks outside the tackles are permitted. No running clock (not sure).

man that schedule is just downright brutal, y'all run that and win a state title you deserve to be called national champs
Either winning national championship or finishing with potentially 4 losses. They better be ready to ball.

A Varsity B squad? I am sure the FHSAA will have a few words with them about that one... you can only have one varsity team per sport, per member school. The only way I see this flying is IMG resigning their membership.
Hmmm... They must have worked that out a long time ago because they have multiple varsity teams in baseball, basketball and lacrosse.

IMG Academy (FL): IMG Academy is looking for games for the 2017 season. This particular IMG squad is looking to play teams in the 2A-3A classification. Interested programs can contact Kenneth.stills@img.com.
(from Football Scoop)
Why the devil would IMG want to schedule 2-3A teams? This for their JV, or are they going to finally suck at recruiting for once?
On another board it says they are playing a Varsity B squad. I think there is a JV as well.

Pretty solid non-district schedule. As a Southeast Grad, sad to see that series put on hold, but it really did neither team any good right now to play each other.
Growing up watching Lakeland football in the 80's, I am excited to see Lakeland/Manatee get that rivalry going again
Fairly solid. Good to see Braden River back on.

Another coach who only cares about his winning percentage. All about the coach.

Trinity Christian and Carol City have dudes.
Venice doesn't.
So getting their head pounded in by IMG isn't going to do much for them.
I think it will definitely hep them.
-
I will say this regarding Peacock: He is driven to succeed. It worked for Trinity Christian and Carol City.

It's time to separate recruited up private school powers. They need their own class. They clearly have an unfair advantage over every other team except for IMG, who is coincidentally not permitted to compete for a title.
I agree but I thought anyone could go to whatever school they wanted to next year including for athletic purposes. So with that being the case what's the purpose of separating.

I have a plan drawn up. All it takes is enough pissed off schools. Have to weed out the STAs, Bolles, AHPs of the world.
What's the plan and what do you mean weed out?

Don't worry about the lack of playing background. Just be passionate and always willing to learn and coaches will over look that.
Also, personal recommendation: I would try to seek employment first with other schools aside from Dillard. Could it maybe be easier to get in the door at Dillard as an alum? Perhaps. But here's why I say start with other schools first: you can learn from so many other coaches first and then apply what you have learned at Dillard and help make them great. Start asking some other schools around you to volunteer.
I agree. Become a student of the game and just volunteer at first if you can. I believe that Bob Weiner at Plant was a tennis player at his High School at Jesuit and may have played a little tennis in college. When he finished college he came back and taught at Jesuit and started coaching JV as an assistant. I know for a fact that every conference I attended for football coaches Bob was there taking notes and studying. I been involved for years and years and I have never been to a conference where I didn't see him doing the same thing. DEDICATION
