  1. Well, you know Jesse, I can chew gum and walk at the same time. Obviously I follow both Trinity and IMG.
  2. Normally you can go on You Tube and sometimes the game will be available. Or possibly on IMG's Facebook page. I'm still hoping that ESPN will carry it as it may be the biggest HS game in the nation on Friday.
  3. IMG's starting QB A J Duffy will be out. A Freshman QB will start. IMO Duffy has not been all that great the entire season and the reason for a few close games that they had, so possibly it may not be that bad for IMG. They still have two top RB's Allen and Gage, a very good OL, and WR's that can catch anything. Plus their DF is lights out most of the time.
  4. For those that may be interested St. Frances Academy ( 7-1 ) Lost only to STA 38-23 in Ft. Lauderdale this season IMG ( 9-0 ) In 2019 IMG lost to St. Frances 35-7 in Baltimore St. Frances' football program has become the subject of controversy within Maryland in the late 2010s. After former Gilman School coach Biff Poggi took over as head coach, he began aggressively recruiting talented players from inside and outside Maryland, to a greater degree than other private schools in the state did. Within a few seasons St. Frances became effectively unbeatable by their traditional opponents in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA), regularly defeating them by wide margins.[10] Before 2018 those teams told St. Frances they would no longer play them, citing safety concerns as many of St. Frances' recruits were well outside the typical height and weight range for high school players and more in line with college football teams The team won the MIAA championship before the season even started since all those opponents had to forfeit their games, but scheduled intra squad scrimmages, opponents from as far away as Canada, and road trips to the South for the players' benefit. IMG will have their hands full to say the least. Being played Friday at 7 PM. Wonder if ESPN will cover it or whether it will be aired on You Tube.
  5. Any info about Heritage would be helpful. Their 3 losses were to pretty good teams. Harmony, Auburndale, and Lake Wales all fairly close scores. RB LJ Turner, 2070 Yds, 19 TDs seems to be their go to guy. They also seem to have a pretty balanced offense between passing and rushing. Except for the Lake Wales game, where they had 37 scored against them, They don't seem to give up many points.
  6. True, the state of Florida has the Step-Up for Students Scholarship programs available for needs based families. Also, there are some private schools that give partial scholarships on their own. Most of them do not cover full tuition and I believe the student has to maintain certain academic requisites. But, yes, you are correct and the reason why so many public school students can attend private schools. We do have to realize that these scholarships are available to all students if they meet the needs based criteria and not just to football players and the school has to have room available for them. Hopefully these students will take the opportunity to better themselves academically in a much better learning environment although I'm not so sure of that.
  7. I'm with you on most of this. However, I don't feel that private and parochial schools have much of an advantage when it comes to transfers. First off, many of the top notch football players in public schools cannot afford private school. Secondly, quite a few don't meet the academic and/or quality standards to be accepted at a private or parochial school. Thirdly, there is no free transportation to and from private and parochial schools and many live quite a distance from these schools or are in other towns. In our private school there have been players from public schools that transferred in and had to drop out or were dismissed due to academic and/or disciplinary reasons. On top of that Private and parochial schools can only handle so many students and the classes fill up pretty quickly. So ability to accept transfers is limited.
  8. WE can only hope
  9. Has anyone been to Tallahassee for a football game in December? A few years back I went to a playoff game in Jacksonville, which is not quite as far north as Tallahassee. I'm originally from New York and I was never so cold in all of my days. It was really so cold that the air was making a crackling noise. I was dressed like an Eskimo and I couldn't make it past the first half. Not a fun way to watch football IMO. Better they have it in South Florida where the sun actually provides heat in Winter. Even Orlando would be better as Orlando I believe is below the frost free line.
  10. Auburn is a very well coached team and, as I previously mentioned, well disciplined. IMG always manages to come back in the tail end of a game if they think they may lose. So many different offensive formations for Auburn but didn't seem to affect IMG as much as I thought it would. IMG's offensive line has got to allow Duffy more time in the pocket. Auburn was blitzing on almost every play and having some success. IMG's last game of the season is 11/19 at home against the nemeses St. Francis Academy out of Baltimore. One of the only loses IMG has had was in 2019 35-7 against St. Francis.
  11. And they can't play Mater Dei anymore as their football association does not allow them to play against teams that are not permitted, by their football association (FHSAA), to play in the playoffs. At least that is how I read it. So far, St. Francis (Baltimore) and St. John's (DC) are the only teams that can play IMG on an equal footing.
  12. https://www.imgacademy.com/events/venues/img-academy-stadium Doesn't look as though they have zero fans. The stadium seats 5,000. How would you know? Have you ever been to one of their games or do you just spread information about something you know nothing about like you normally do?
  13. That's what I kind of thought. I also thought that East St. Louis would give IMG a tough go. Didn't happen. IMG is just in another universe when they are motivated to play their best.
  14. They pack stadiums all over the country when they play opponents out of state. And, they probably have more people in their home stands than are in attendance at many high school football games in Florida. And, I did state "for those that are interested" which you obviously are not.
  15. For those that are interested IMG will be playing Auburn HS in Alabama Friday at 7 pm. It will be live on You Tube. Auburn's only loss was a close game to 10-0 Central HS of Phenix City, AL. Auburn plays all of it's games in Alabama and apparently does not travel out of state like IMG does. I watched Auburn against Bob Jones and they seem like a pretty disciplined team although don't know if they are in the same league as IMG.
  16. ESL was a lot easier for IMG than I had any idea it would be. ESL also lost their top receiver, who is one of the top receivers in the country, to a personal foul penalty for the entire 2nd half and it proved they could not produce without him. IMG has D-1 players at almost every position.
  17. IMG 6-0 vs East St. Louis 7-1 @ Jackson State University, MIss Stadium. On You Tube tonight at 7 PM. Is going to be one heck of a game between IMG #2 and ESL #25 and well worth watching IMO.
  18. I think just like IMG, SFA is going to have problems with STM. IMG came within an inch of loosing that game. STM has a very good possibility of defeating SFA especially considering that STA defeated them this year and put up over 400 yards against them. I also think that STM has a better defense than STA. Just my thoughts though.
  19. SFA lost to STA but defeated De LaSalle. IMG also plays SFA in Bradenton for the last game of their season. For 3 of the 4 remaining games IMG has are a murderer's row to contend with. East St. Louis, Auburn HS, and SFA. A total of 2 loses among all 3.
  20. This kind of tells it all:
  21. IMG plays East St. Louis (Illinois) @ Jackson State University, Mississippi this Friday. East St. Louis is usually one of the tougher games on their schedule that IMG plays. However, I watched their game against Edwardsville and I don't believe they will be as difficult for IMG as St. Thomas Moore was. But, if they play as poorly against them as they did against St. Thomas Moore, who knows.
  22. Believe I did hear talk of that in the broadcast. Not 100% sure though. I do know that STM is a boys boarding school. If that is the case then IMG shies away from no opponent. Another thing is that IMG didn't even play their leading RB, Kaytron Allen, one of the top RBs in the country.
  23. This game was much much closer than the final outcome. IMG led 17-14 with 2 minutes left in the game. They had to intercept a pass to get the ball back. IMG then had 4th and goal and just made it over the goal line. This is the worst I have ever seen IMG play in all of their history. St Thomas Moore is a very good team and maybe the best team that IMG has played this year and possibly one of the best they have played in a couple of years. I believe that I heard one of the announcers say that St Thomas Moore has played and defeated D3 college teams. At least I think I heard that correctly.
  24. Joshua. Where are your "Rules for the Forum" in this conversation. Nobody on this forum should be encouraged to call another forum member a "Jackass" and to use condescending and/our degrading language toward another forum member. Otherwise we get just like that other forum where many of us left for just such behavior.
  25. Teams like STA should test themselves against the very best like IMG. How does a team know where they stand unless they go up against the very best? STA plays out of state teams that are in the same ballpark as IMG. At least Miami Northwestern and Central have the tenacity to play them every year knowing that the chance of their winning is not that great. Actually MNW didn't do that badly on Friday.
