    I have a few games.

Glades Central's lost to Cocoa in 2010 was a heartbreaking defeat. The score was 13-14. A field goal would have put the Tigers away giving Glades Central its seventh state championship.

Madison County Loss to Glades Central in 1999 was another 33-28. Madison County was closing on the victory, but Glades Central scored on with a deep pass in the endzone with seconds left on the clock.

Clewiston's loss to Jacksonville Bolles is another in 2006. They lost in overtime 24-27. The reason why this was a heartbreaker because the Muck would have a clean sweep in the state championship with Glades Day, Pahokee, and Glades Central all won state championships. Clewiston would have had its first sole state championship.

That same year, Lakeland and St. Thomas Aquinas squared off in an exciting battle. Lakeland had an amazing lead, but Raiders came back strong forcing them into overtime. However, Lakeland walked away with the win.

Madison fan here.  I was at that game in 1999.  That was a complete heartbreaker for us.  Very exciting game!  Tough ride home!

We got one in our district currently winless, just not the one we expected but I feel if we had to try and fill 10 games on our own we would have been screwed because most these North teams won't play us

Madison has been this way for a while.  Games are hard to come by.  It is probably how the Columbia-Madison game survives.  We need each other.  Columbia doesn't gain much by playing Madison other than a good gate.

I have tremendous respect for your program.  Great example of a small, rural school that can build a consistent winner with a limited pool of players.  ...and is not afraid to take on much bigger schools.  Hope you saw the post about Frankie Carroll, although maybe you already knew of his return to coaching.

Thanks for the props.  Yes I heard he was back coaching again.  Good man!

    So we not scrappy?

When I think of a team being described as "scrappy", the thought I have in mind is generally of a team with low numbers that love to hit you.  Just trying to be more physical than you.  A team that has to play above their overall talent.  Columbia County does not fall into the "low numbers" class so it kind of removes them from the discussion.  I meant no disrespect to Columbia County when I said what I said.  They are a quality program.  I meant it more as a compliment to Ft White.  Just my opinion.

  5. Perspective from a Madison County Fan.  We have played Columbia County and Ft White our share of times over the years.  We have had some good close games with both teams but overall Ft White's program has more respect from me.  They remind me a lot of our team.  Not always the most talented team but usually pretty scrappy.  Columbia Fan you make the comment "And watch what happens this year".  You must be planning on Columbia smoking us with that kind of talk.

Schools out there gone far deeper to win games before then this

That may be the case with some other schools but not in our case.  I have lived here my whole life.  I love my town and school but we are struggling educationally.  The charter school was created because some parents wanted another option for their kids.  This is a fact.  It had absolutely zero to do with athletics.  If anything, it has hurt the public school even more by taking funding away from the lost students.  Also, the kids that went the charter route are not football players.

I'm also putting up the truce flag.  I don't normally post much as I'm not usually into the trash talking. Just got tired of all the rah rah Columbia stuff. But it's good to see passionate fans like you LC Columbia as so many fans in our state are not into high school football. That's what I enjoy when I cross the border into GA. Those folks are serious about their football.  That Columbia vs Lincoln game was a good spectator game as both teams kept battling. BTW that #22 is one fine runner for the Tigers. I wish our stupid newspaper listed his stats. Have a good offseason and hope you find some good games to attend...suggest McEachern at Lowndes this Friday.

Mceachern and lowness will prolly be a good one.

Oh i remember you from last year

The lurking was more directed at Lincoln fan lol

    Truce good with me

You gonna come to Lake City next year when we play? :)

I probably will not make it to lake city next year.  My kids have all graduated now and my priorities have changed.   I just don't have a dog in the hunt anymore.  I used to never miss a game but now hardly ever make road trips.  I try to catch the home games.  Lake city will probably return the favor to Madison next year because we graduate a good many I think.

  9. I am a long time lurker.  Occasional poster.  I didn't just find this board.  Just because I don't post on every thread here doesn't make me a bad fan.  I lurked thru all of the badmouthing that madison took all year here because I wasn't looking for a fight.

Columbia, you are a good dude.  You love your school and rep them well.  All of our schools need more fans like you.  You are guilty of being a homer but there is nothing wrong with that.  Truce?

That's deep bro!  I had to think about that thing to get it to make sense.  Still not sure I got it.  Lol

Hey I've been a Lincoln fan since you were in kindergarten.  I'd salute you for your team's good season but am tired of your "Columbia is the greatest" baloney week after week.  We aren't having a good stretch in the past 3 or 4 years but at least we aren't telling the world we are better than the teams we lose to.  Columbia is a decent team who was upset by another team that outdid them when it counted.  You can mock us all you want but fact is Columbia is done.  Sit back and enjoy the playoffs and be thankful for your team's success rather than insulting the team that knocked you out.

He did madison county the same way.  He will probably still have Columbia ahead of madison in his poll.

  12. Wow haven't seen Willie on the boards in a long time.  For that matter other than Badbird I haven't seen any of the the slaps in a long time.  I don't post much here.  I just lurk for the most part.  No Lonewolf sightings either unless he is going by a different name.  Havent seen him since he closed the 4F(I think it was something like that)board.

  13. Columbia, I applaud the effort but the video offers very little.  Not much to be gained viewing it.   Also Madison lost their qb before the half as well.  We played the second half with a backup.   Your kicking failures only put you even with us.  You saw us going for two after scores.   There is a reason for that.  Your first score was a gift when we gave you the ball at the 8 yd line after a fumble.   We also missed a score just before the half when our guy fumbled going in for a score.  We had our share of missed opportunities as well and we gave you some gimmes.
