Multiple shots fired. Two people wounded.

What an absolute shame. Just got home from a crazy scene at Palm Beach Central High School. Sickening to see hundreds of parents panicked and clueless about the safety of their children. We have to do better.

Dwyer takes advantage of a short field to cut the lead to two. 5-3 PBC with 10:46 left. PBC allowed Dwyer Q (Oxbridge transfer) to break the pocket twice for first downs. Outside of that, a fifteen-yard penalty was how they moved the ball. Still not much offensively from WTD.

Dwyer's best offensive drive stalls in PBC territory. Hit a deep ball and had a decent sized run. Still incredibly sloppy. 5-0 with 5:26 left in the third.

A beautiful scene for an XDC: a defensive battle. 5-0 PBC at the half. Outside of a twenty yard bubble, nothing for Dwyer offensively. PBC has connected on two play action shots, one of which led to a FG. Interesting vibe looking at the Dwyer sideline. More to come.

Boneheaded move by a Dwyer punt returner. Fielded it at the 5 and tried to reverse field through the endzone. Didn't work. 2-0 PBC. 2:16 left in the first.

0-0 with 6:08 left in the first. PBC started with a three and out. Dwyer was planning to do the same but fumbled deep in their own territory on third down. PBC took over and missed a 37 yard FG. Two stingy defenses on display thus far.

Just pulled in. Should be a good one tonight in Wellington. XDC

That they do. Very sloppy performance, IMO. Multiple false start penalties. A few untimely encroachments that extended drives. And they dropped at least two interceptions that could have easily went the distance. That said, they played one of the better teams in South Florida. It looks like a well-respected PBC offensive mind has his hands all over this offense. What he is trying to do suits their QB, and I think they will get a lot better as the year rolls on. When clicking, it is a tough offense to prepare for, as it utilizes multiple formations and blends the Spread and Wing-T offenses quite effectively. On defense, they are playing with more three down than I am used to seeing with an Atlantic defense. They struggled with the big play, and on a few drives, they had trouble fitting gap-scheme runs. All in all, I'd say reserve judgement on this team. I will have a better idea where they fall in PBC after I see Dwyer/PBC lock horns this evening. XDC

19-7 Miami Central at the half. Should be much worse. The Rockets had three drives stall deep in Atlantic territory. Very impressive half by MC.

And as I'm typing, the Rockets answer in under a minute. 12-7. 10:44 left in the first half.

7-6 Atlantic with 11:24 left in the second. Miami Central offense deep in Atlantic territory to start the second. They turn it over on downs. Next play 78 to the house. 305 fans can feel free to disagree, but this is the most organized and efficient Rockets offense I have seen in years.

6-0 Miami Central (missed extra point) with 8:11 left in the first. Impressive drive. Looked easy for the Rockets.

Welp. Here we are. First time in over a decade that I won't be in a press box on Friday night. In the coming weeks, I hope to satisfy my "Friday Night fix" by taking a tour of the state. While my focus will be on South Florida, I plan on venturing out of the 561 to take in the best matchup of the week. I will be joined by my trusty sidekick, my nine-year-old son. Pictures. Videos. In-game updates. Restaurant and concession stand reviews. We'll have it all, so buckle up! Not sure there is any reason to leave Palm Beach County this week. Heck of a slate in the 561.
