  2. You are right and how Clay County has grown over the last 20 years it has built up some neighborhood (or cross-county) showdowns. Remember for a long time it was Orange Park, Clay and Keystone Heights, then came Middleburg. Eventually Ridgeview converted from junior high to high school. Fleming Island finally grew up (well built should I say) and then now you have Oakleaf. Keystone rarely plays anyone else in Clay County now. But, overall I believe it is all good how things are now for the Clay County teams.
  3. Got more in the works although they might not be out tonight. We are just going district by district right now. Hillsborough County usually comes out at all at once, like Miami-Dade does as well.
  4. Good deal! I also advise to keep checking on the FHSAA Classifieds for any open weeks that anyone might have open as well.
  5. You know it is a great question as to who, but we won't know until Hillsborough County releases the full schedule which will not come out for another few weeks likely. I will tell you this news is not what I would have expected considering how strong the gates are for those rivalry games are.
  6. The Tampa Bay Times has reported that the Plant-Armwood rivalry has been called off for the next two years at least. This is all due to the fact that Armwood is now in a 9-team district for the next two years, meaning only two non-district games can be played by the Hawks. The report indicated that it could return in 2015-16 depending the reclassification cycle. Also to note Plant will not play Jesuit the next two years, also due to scheduling issues as Plant is playing in a six team district this year. 7. You know our response on this one since we emailed you on it. Thanks for being a great follower to our website NoleBull!
  8. This is the first time this will happen this year as some counties are being granted special permission to start Spring Football a week early. The reason? Schools started a week early because they were in A rated districts by the state and the FHSAA is taking this into consideration for districts that will end the school year during the Spring Football period. So far I know of two counties that are starting a week early (April 27) from the traditional May 1st start date. Counties starting early: - Seminole County - Lee County Please feel free to add to this list of any other school district that have been granted permission to start Spring Football a week early this year.

  10. Former Bay head coach Frank Sorrells is suing Bay County Schools over what he is calling age discrimination that resulted in his dismissal from his position. WJHG TV 7 in Panama City is reporting that he is suing for lost wages, benefits and all damages allowed by law. 11. If that is the case then fans will be in for a dandy of a game. In my opinion the Triple Option and Wing-T are the hardest offenses to stop if you are not use to it from your own side of the ball or going up against teams that run it week in and week out.
  12. Nolebull, I will have some more schedules tomorrow (Thursday). Ran into a technical issue on my side of things. As far as what Naples returns, I know their quarterback/punter will be back, but my biggest question is how much of a blow of losing Manny Morgan yo graduation will be. We will find out more answers during Spring Football.
  13. Brevard County has a pay to play proposal on the table starting for the 2013-2014 school year and a lot of people fear that the impact could be huge. Some say the proposal will catch on, but coaches fear otherwise. Florida Today reports that a fee of $100 is proposed to play one sport while a $150 fee would apply for two or more sports. You can read more about the entire proposal here: http://www.floridatoday.com/article/20130226/SPORTS07/302260014. So now I want to start to an open discussion with everyone on Pay to play and what your thoughts are with some basic questions? 1. Does your school implement a pay to play system? 2. Is the pay to play system, a county-wide thing? If so, which county? 3. What does it cost to participate? 4. Has pay to play affected certain sports in your area? 5. Do you support pay to play? Why or why not?
  14. Naples has slated a huge game against Ohio powerhouse Centerville, which will be hosted at home on September 28. The Naples Daily News reports that both schools have been having a hard time getting a full 10 games on the schedule so this will help both teams out. What are your thoughts about this game? Sound off here! LINK: http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2013/feb/25/prep-football-ohio-heavyweight-centerville-at-on/?partner=RSS
  15. This topic has been moved to Touchdown Zone. [iurl]http://floridahsfootball.com/board/index.php?topic=48.0[/iurl]
  16. Also Duval Charter is not longer playing Lafayette MS anymore. They are on a bye week this week and will play Nova in two weeks.
  17. The goal is to try to keep them here on the message boards from here on out. Unlike some other message boards where the post are deleted after a certain amount of time this message board keep things together for a long period of time. Hope this helps!
  18. Looks like the Lincoln - Stephenson (GA) game is off now.
  19. Thank you for the kind words! It was amazing how everything changed so quickly in regards to that game taking shape. There was a report out there saying the game wasn't going to happen, but manage to quickly debunk that. I am glad Lincoln can play, but I feel bad for Pensacola and Pine Forest at the same time. Sad they won't be able to play this weekend, but at least they can get started next week though, but I hope it is not a set back to either team. Anyways, looking forward to seeing the power rankings each week! Thanks again!
  20. Thanks for posting these! I will be sure to make a mention tomorrow and I will pin them to the top of the board as well! Much appreciated!
  21. List what team(s) you think will win a state championship this year and why here.
  22. What is your favorite rivalry game? What makes it standout to you among other rivalry games. List them here! For myself I have several of them because it was about pride and fun of taking on your next door neighbor literally (that is what it felt like to me at least). Those are: Middleburg vs Ridgeview Middleburg vs Clay Middleburg vs Fleming Island
  23. That is an interesting take and I was thinking the same thing about FP Central making nice little run again. Vero Beach, I think they could win district this year, but if Centennial comes out roaring then I will have to change my tune. BTW, Welcome to the forums Bill!
  24. I think so, but I want to say the Jacksonville area could have one of its best seasons ever. At least one team in each class from the Jacksonville area is ranked in the FloridaHSFootball.com rankings.
