This game against Miramar should be the only game of the year where Dillard’s varsity plays a little in the 2nd half. Dillard might lead the state in scoring and will go undefeated into the playoffs. Coral Gables used to be called Ponce De Leon High. I believe they changed their name to Coral Gables High in 1950. Miami vs Edison is actually the first matchups in Dade. Then Ponce came along shortly after and would play both. Then Jackson came in the 30’s. So those were the 4 big high schools in Dade for the longest. There were some smaller schools like Miami Military Academy and a bunch of private schools, but those were the 4 top dogs for the longest
