I would do enrollment simply because every public team has the same luxury of attracting talent. And for the people who say what about the public teams in the middle of nowhere that aren’t close to a lot of talent I would say sorry. Teams in areas with lots of talent shouldn’t be punished by playing in watered down brackets because you have no talent

No 10 classes for 500 teams would have been an abomination. The fact we have a rural class is embarrassing. Hawthorne and Madison County would have been favored over OTC and Mooney in my opinion. Florida needs 5 classes realistically with 6 being the absolute max. 6 classes with 500 teams is 83 per class. With 16 districts per class that’s 5.2 teams per district. Please tell me how that’s unreasonable????

Horrible. So South Florida supplies most of the teams and has to drive 7 hours to play.

The problem with this system is the finals are actually semi finals games. 9 classes was an embarrassment. Stop punishing South Florida for having more talent than the rest of the state. Every team operates under the same rules. You can attract talent just like anyone else. But it shouldn’t be South Florida’s fault their talent is better than North Florida. Because it sounds like the only way to stop the crying is to split the state into 3. North, Central and South. And each region only plays teams in their region. Because you won’t stop hearing the crying from North FL they can’t compete

Cardinal Mooney and Hawthorne are better than Miami Central, Norland, Edgewater, Seminole, Lake Mary, Venice and Mandarin. change my mind

Just know whatever the correct decisions are, the FHSAA will do the opposite.

What’s funny is I watched the game and was cheering for Berkeley to win the whole time. I’m a Hillsborough guy through and through. (Yeah I live in Pasco now but I’m a family man. Gotta put their safety over my own. Lol) It’s Hillsborough vs everybody. But that is not gonna cause me to be biased and emotional when it comes to ranking teams

I’m not a prisoner of the moment and I don’t rank off emotion. Sorry you can’t see it that way. But I won’t sway my thought process based on how you think it should be done

They won by 1 score in the one of the biggest upsets in finals history. I’m not gonna discount everything Norland did up to that point. They beat Miami Central twice, Columbus and Lakeland! They beat the 4S and 4M State Champions by a combined score of 64-37!!! I am ranking a total body of work. Not just one epic upset especially when there are endless amounts of examples of teams losing a game to a team and then beating them later down the road. Meaning you can have a bad game but that not define your entire season of how good you are/were. Just because you beat a team doesn’t mean you should always be ranked higher than them no matter what.

If the system wasn’t so screwed up these would have been semi final games. STA should be playing Lakeland for the STATE championship. Instead both won regional championships. sad

Edgewater pounds Jones 31-13 in the regular season then Jones beats Edgewater 28-24 in the playoffs. How is that possible? If you lose to a team then there is no way you can win a rematch. Norland could never win a rematch with Berkeley. Columbus could never win a rematch with Homestead. Homestead could never win a rematch with Palmetto

How can anyone justify ranking Mainland over Lake Mary since LM beat them 33-0?

Haven’t you guys learned that winning one game against someone doesn’t automatically mean they are better than them no questions asked? How do you justify rematches going the opposite way?

Creekside and Bartram Trail beat Mandarin must be ranked ahead of them! Armwood beat Venice. Gotta edit the ranking to reflect Armwood ahead of Venice Miami Northwestern beat Cardinal Newman Clearwater Academy beat Lakeland. That means they are better

4 loss Lincoln beating 14-0 Armwood in 2010 is a bigger upset. People are prisoners of the moment. I’m sure if you dig hard enough you can find bigger upsets. This was definitely an upset, but the biggest in history is a stretch. I’ll look more into it.

Berkeley driving 4 hours South to beat state top 5 AHP at their house was impressive, then driving 4 hours North to beat another state top 5 team was even more impressive!!!! Berkeley earned this title. This wasn’t a case of better teams choking. This was a case of Berkeley executing their game plan to perfection and wanting it more

That’s what the ref said. They don’t complete this game. What’s ironic is all the main rivals are on the same team since it’s divided into East Pasco and West Pasco. So these players fighting each other aren’t even on teams who hate the other team. Just punks who can’t handle themselves. And they are seniors. You would think they would be a little more mature but I guess not

I went to the Pasco County all star game yesterday at Sunlake High in Land O Lakes. There was about 40 penalties and numerous times kids had to be broken up for fighting. I was standing on the sidelines near the end zone closest to the exit of the stadium. With about 3 minutes left in the game, a fight with some players started breaking out, and the refs started walking off the field yelling at each other to let’s go. They were running off the field towards the parking lot. There was parents screaming and heckling them. I grabbed my son and we started walking with the refs toward the parking lot and asked them what happened and the ref said “every F’in year this game never gets completed. It’s called for fighting. Then out of nowhere the players started fighting on the field. Then all the players on each sideline rushed the field and started fighting. Then people were jumping from the stands and all of a sudden there was about 500 people in a melee on the field. Thankfully no guns were drawn.
