They have already done that. The winning is already there. Even though it’s against a lot of mediocre competition. What they need is more showcase games. Kids are not gonna want to transfer in or move to the zone to play Gulf, East Lake and Tarpon Springs. They need to be calling out Tech, Jesuit, Armwood, Polk and Orlando powers etc etc. Last year they had non district games against Fivay, Hudson, Leto!!, and River Ridge. And the other one was against Wiregrass and they got their teeth kicked in. Wiregrass was in a district with Tech, Armwood and Wharton. Then Wharton came to Mitchell and took care of business. Mitchell doesn’t get and will continue to not get respect and deservedly so because the coach is content with just being a Pasco power and nothing more.

Pasco County doesn’t have them dudes. They played a heck of a game vs Edgewater but that is gonna be 3 seasons ago. They are good for Pasco. But that’s it. They are good for a round or 2. Trinity is an affluent suburb outside Tampa. They have the resources and fan support. They just don’t have the Jimmys and Joes to compete on a state level. And the coach doesn’t like challenging himself in the non district. They play one decent non district game for their standard (The Villages) and will probably lose that game

So basically the worst of the worst

Jesuit will still be solid. They return a 30 TD quarterback and 1900 yard rusher. The defensive loses a bit but a lot of younger guys got meaningful snaps. Tampa Bay Tech returns a good core too. They won’t skip a beat. They return more than Jesuit on defense, so they could be slightly ahead at least early in the season. Jesuit plays a way tougher schedule as well. Berkeley loses a ton. Armwood has been regressing. Gaither is loading up. right now just Tech and Jesuit should be top 25 in state from Hillsborough.

Hooks is that dude!! I “hooked” him up with playing a California and Georgia team a while back. The game against the Cali team was epic. Holy Trinity was down 28-7 and stormed back to win 31-28! I’m not saying they should be scheduling STA. But maybe Mainland, Brevard powers, West Orange types etc. Hell their week 11 opponent on maxpreps is listed as “Varsity opponent” Lol. Like they have to unwrap it and see the team they get to play

I just think when you seek out the worst opponent then that shows what character you have. I don’t want my son being led by a coward. This isn’t about trying to find the toughest opponent possible for a guaranteed loss. The issue is the mindset. Seeking the worst of the worst. When you travel to Orlando and out of all the teams you could possibly play you pick freaking Colonial, University, Freedom and Windermere, that tells me you are a coward that shouldn’t be leading young men

When he was at Cocoa he would play teams he had a zero percent chance of beating. He would schedule games he knew was an auto loss just to be able to take his team sight seeing. Now with New Smyrna Beach it’s the opposite. The non district schedule has got to be one of the worst in the state. Crystal River Sunlake Titusville Central FL Christian Academy East River Zephyrhills Christian WTF??? That’s horrible!

Ridley PA went 12-2 last year and scheduled to play 0-10 Taravella who lost 91-0 last year. Now why the hell would you think to play freaking Taravella? Why would you pay thousands of dollars to travel and play a team who would get beat by a lot of JV teams? It’s the KSA events fault. They give the applications to the OOS teams and they start with the worst teams until someone agrees to play. But you have to blame the OOS coach for being a puss. And you have to blame the FL coach for agreeing to play a team way out of their league. It’s just stupid to have that mindset

It’s not just the top team. It’s teams that are top 10 in their state and they come here to play glorified junior varsity teams

Cherry Creek was number 1 in CO and they played national top 25 Chandler AZ tough losing 17-7

Ralston Valley CO went 9-3 and finished top 10 in Colorado. And they are playing Colonial FL who didn’t even finish top 400 in FL alone Chatfield won the state title in CO and finished top 5 in state. And they are playing Pt St Lucie who didn’t finish top 200 here.

Yeah Colorado is the worst of this followed by Georgia

Sometimes the lack of competition is enough to end a rivalry. Look at Avon Park vs Sebring. One of the oldest rivalries in the state and Avon Park said NO MAS!!! after losing their 11th in a row against the Blue Streaks
